Identity Of Private Entrepreneur Status And Long-term Orientation Of Enterprises

Since the reform and opening up,the private economy has accumulated a lot of manpower,economic and social capital,and has made tremendous economic contributions to national tax revenue,employment,technological innovation and so on.Under the economic background of shifting gears in transition,to create a "new normal economy" of sustainable development requires private enterprises to focus more on the long-term development of enterprises,especially on the innovation of enterprises' products and technologies and the cultivation of enterprise talents.This paper focuses on the long-term orientation behavior of private enterprises in the economic and social transition,but different from the current mainstream theory,the author believes that as a product of reform and opening up,the identification of private entrepreneurs with high sensitivity to their own status is the key factor affecting the long-term orientation of enterprises.Since ancient times,Chinese businessmen have adhered to the commercial criterion of "self-status" to guide how to "act",that is,the so-called "advance and retreat".The empirical results based on the National Private Enterprise Sample Survey database support the relevant hypothesis: Firstly,the status identity of private entrepreneurs is positively correlated with the long-term orientation of enterprises,which is more significant in small-scale enterprises and enterprises without business linkages.Secondly,in areas with low degree of marketization,private entrepreneurship status identification can significantly promote long-term investment of enterprises.Third,when individual entrepreneurs' status recognition is higher than the average level of group status,they prefer the long-term orientation of enterprises.The value of the article may be to suggest that in the aspect of market-oriented reform in the whole society,how to stimulate the long-term orientation of private enterprises and guide them to contribute to the construction of an innovative country,we must not ignore the status identification of private entrepreneurs as a "mental health".
