The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to establish a technological innovation system with enterprises as the mainstay,market-oriented,and deep integration of industry university research and production.The 20 th China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Conference held in January 2019 also pointed out that the connotation of deep integration lies in the organic connection,assistance and interaction between various subjects of industry-university-research collaboration.The combination of technology and economic factors is prone to occur "two skins" problem,which is the most common and prominent problem in the current domestic industry-university-research collaboration.It also greatly affects the motivation and willingness of enterprises to carry out industry-university-research collaboration.How to help enterprises overcome the differences in cooperation goals and knowledge and technology between enterprises and academic institutions is particularly important to solve "two skins" problem in industry-university-research collaboration and achieve deep integration.This research focuses on the enterprise in the industry-university-research collaboration.Based on the analysis of the existing literature,this study explores the driving effect of enterprise's subject factor(human capital),trust relationship factor with university and academic institution(interpersonal trust between organizations)on enterprises' knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration,and explores contingency role of service intermediaries ties and technical environmental characteristics(technical turbulence)on the formation of industry-university-research knowledge integration and value realization(product innovation and process innovation).Through questionnaire survey and empirical analysis of 262 high-tech manufacturing industries in the Pearl River Delta,Bohai Rim,and Yangtze River Delta regions,the results show that:(1)Enterprise's ability factors(human capital),and trust relationship elements with university and academic institution(interpersonal trust between organizations)both have significant positive impact on knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration.Moreover,interpersonal trust between organizations has a stronger effect than human capital.(2)Service intermediaries ties negatively moderate the relationship between interpersonal trust between organizations and the knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration,but positively moderate the relationship between human capital and the knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration.It indicates that enterprise's ties with service intermediaries have a certain substitution impact on enterprise's trust relationship with universities and academic institutions,on the contrary,they have certain complementary effects on the enterprise's human capital.(3)The knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration has a significant role in promoting product innovation and process innovation,but the positive effect on product innovation is higher than process innovation.It shows that the value creation of knowledge integration of industry-university-research collaboration is more manifested in product innovation through integrating technological elements and economic elements.(4)Technology turbulence positively moderates the relationship between industry-university-research knowledge integration and product innovation,which demonstrates that industry-university-research knowledge integration can help enterprises effectively cope with technological turbulence and improve product innovation.Based on the above research results,this research empirically enriches and expands the knowledge integration literature,especially the knowledge integration research based on the collaboration of industry university and research.It also provides some theoretical guidance and practical suggestions for enterprises to how to exert the subjective initiative to solve the "two skins" in industry university and research collaboration.
