With the development of economy and the rapid improvement of people’s living standard,people pay more attention to healthy care.The development of the pharmaceutical industry is directly related to people’s life and health,and the pharmaceutical industry has become an industry that countries all over the world attach great importance to and vigorously develop.As the world’s largest emerging pharmaceutical market,the international competitiveness of China’s pharmaceutical enterprises is still insufficient,and most of them are still not involved in international competition.Compared with the pharmaceutical industry in developed countries,no matter the scale or level of development,China’s pharmaceutical industry is far from being competitive.Under this background,the research on the performance of pharmaceutical enterprises’ transnational m&a and the factors influencing the performance has extremely important theoretical and practical significance for the success of the integration of pharmaceutical enterprises’ transnational M&A.This paper takes fosun pharmaceutical’s acquisition of Gland Pharma,an Indian pharmaceutical company,as an example.Based on the m&a performance theory,this paper briefly describes the beginning and end of fosun pharmaceutical’s acquisition from the perspective of m&a process and motivation and analyzes the existing problems.In the aspect of m&a performance analysis,the short-term financial performance of fosun Pharma’s m&a Gland Pharma was explored by the event research method,and the long-term financial performance of fosun Pharma was explored by the financial index analysis method and the principal component analysis method.Finally,the conclusion and inspiration of this merger and acquisition are summarized.
