In the past years,along with the strong economic growth,Chinese tourism has also made impressive progresses.Travelling aboard has been given many favorable conditions for development,especially when China’s policy on tourism is eased.In 2015,the total number of Chinese tourists traveling abroad exceeded 83 million.According to a research by UNWTO,China is currently having about 200 to 250 million people who are financially capable of travelling abroad.In addition to the growth in quantity,the number of Chinese tourists who are able to spend big also keeps increasing,especially when it comes to spending on high-end services and purchasing goods.Therefore,China has always been identified as an enormous market to receive customers from by many places around the world,especially in Southeast Asia.Many countries and destinations around the world value this matter,and have issued policies,as well as invested resources in this market.Destination competition to attract Chinese tourists is becoming fiercer by the day.Lang Son,a province in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam,has many favorable conditions to attract Chinese tourists from Guangxi:being neighboring with common border lines,having convenient road,sea and airline traffic;Guangxi is a major partner of Lang Son province in many fields,especially economy,trade and investment.For many years,Guangxi tourism industry has always been the leading customer market,accounting for over 80% of the total number of international visitors to Lang Son.In 2015,Vietnam welcomed over 2.4 million tourists from China,which is 57% higher compared to that of 2011.Although occupying the leading position in the number of tourists,but the number of Guangxi tourists coming to Lang Son is very limited compared to the total number of tourists traveling abroad every year,and is not commensurate with the favorable conditions and the tourism cooperation relations between the two regions.In addition,the majority of Guangxi visitors in Lang Son have lower spending levels compared to other international visitors coming to the city,and also lower than the amount that Guangxi visitors spend at other locations and areas around the world.In particular,the group of Guangxi tourists that travel to Lang Son by road,stay shortly,and have low affordability accounts for over 30% of the total visitors to Lang Son.The number of Chinese tourists traveling by road to Lang Son fluctuates erratically as it depends on the Chinese central and local government policies,and Lang Son is often in the passive position in this market.Messy business operations,unfair competitions:from Lang Son’s travelling enterprises when it comes to welcoming Guangxi tourists that travel by road greatly affects the service quality and image of Lang Son tourism in the market.Attracting Guangxi visitors that have high affordability is still very limited for big cities with developed economies.Therefore,although having a vast number of Chinese tourists from Guangxi coming to Vietnam,the efficiency is still low and not equivalent to the potentials.The development of the thesis"Research of Lang Son,Vietnam on the export of tourism services to Quang Tay,China"aims at researching the industry,focusing on resources,finding breakthrough solutions to attract customers,and advancing the Guangxi market to become Lang Son’s leading market in terms of quantity and efficiency.This is an urgent requirement in the current period,especially in the context of fierce competitions occurring between regional destinations and in the world when it comes to attracting Chinese tourists.At the same time,the development of this thesis is one of the actions to implement the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2020,vision 2030 to contribute in achieving the goal of attracting 7 to 7.5 million international visitors in 2015,and also to advance tourism in a professional,modern direction,focusing on in-depth development,while ensuring the effective quality. |
