The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to"expand foreign trade and foster a new mode of trade new business",requiring adjustment of the foreign trade structure and fostering new competitive advantages. However, the export of China's manufacturing industry does have outstanding problems, and it is urgent to find new ways of exporting. With the realization of international division of labor within the product, the import of intermediate goods has become an opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing exports. At the same time, the import of intermediate goods and the export of goods also showed a trend of rapid growth. Therefore, this article links the import of intermediate goods with the final product export of China's manufacturing industry, and decomposes the export into the margin of export intensive and the margin of export expansion, with a view to intermediate goods. The import perspective explores new ways to promote stable growth of China's manufacturing exports. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impact of the import of intermediate goods on the binary margin of the export of China's final products. Therefore, based on the binary marginal measure of import and export of intermediate goods, this paper starts with the status quo of China's intermediate product import and the binary marginal status of final product export, and theoretically analyzes the impact mechanism of intermediate goods imports on the margin of manufacturing, the margin of export intensive and the margin of export expansion. On this basis, corresponding to the theoretical mechanism, this paper conducts an empirical test.On this basis, corresponding to the theoretical mechanism, this paper conducts an empirical test.According to the availability of data and the integrity of the sample,142 trading partner countries in China from 2004 to 2015 were selected as samples, and the improved gravity model was used to construct three panel models from the HS2 manufacturing level,in order to analyze the impact of the import of intermediate goods on the margin of total exports of China's manufacturing industry, the margin of export intensive and the margin of export expansion.Further analysis shows that the import of intermediate goods has a significant positive impact on China's total manufacturing exports, export intensive margins and export expansion margins, and the import of intermediate goods mainly relies on intensive marginal growth to achieve the growth of China's manufacturing exports;Compared with the intensive manufacturing industry, the import of intermediate goods in the technology-intensive manufacturing industry has a stronger impact on the total export of manufacturing, the margin of export intensive and the margin of export expansion. On the one hand, these conclusions reflect the characteristics of China's manufacturing exports. On the one hand, they link the import intermediates with the optimization of export finals.Based on this, this paper starts from the government and enterprise levels and provides policy recommendations for promoting the stable growth of China's manufacturing exports.
