From the perspective of my SME management practice,although some SMEs have advanced management,strong innovation capabilities and strong competitiveness,most SMEs still have weak management foundations,lack of standardization and scientific development,weak competitiveness,and Issues such as the low end of the value chain.Compared with large-scale mature companies,senior managers play a greater role in the development of SMEs and can even determine their own lives and deaths.Therefore.it is of great practical significance to study the understanding of "management" among senior management of SMEs,strengthen their attention distribution,promote the management of SMEs,and develop their potential.According to cognitive theory,corporate executive management cognition theory,high-order theory,attention theory,etc.,this paper comprehensively used the literature research method,questionnaire survey method,case analysis method,and empirical analysis method to study the senior management of SMEs.The composition,impact of management cognition and its effect on corporate performance.Using literature research,combined with the field visits of small and medium-sized enterprises,a theoretical model for senior management of small and medium-sized enterprises in management cognition,action orientation,and corporate performance was constructed.Using exploratory analysis and confirmatory analysis,an empirical study was conducted on the management cognition of 174 high-level managers focused on SMEs in manufacturing industries.The management knowledge of senior management of SMEs including management theory,knowledge,and experience was verified and verified.The three dimensions of cognition,management's value and role cognition,and manager's role cognition are three dimensions;action orientation includes three dimensions of management resources investment,enterprise standardization construction,enterprise organization system and management system construction.A further study found that there is a positive correlation between managerial cognition of senior management of SMEs and corporate performance,and a positive relationship with action orientation of' management cognition.Action tendencies have a significant mediating role between management cognition and enterprise performance.Therefore,we strengthen the management knowledge and theoretical learning of senior management in SMEs;enhance the perception and feedback of SMEs' performance on top management;strengthen the management and configuration of SMEs' senior management attention;strengthen the form through private boards of directors and book clubs.Sharing among senior management of SMEs to promote the improvement of management experience;using distributed cognitive theory to construct system scenarios that promote management cognition.This paper focuses on manufacturing SMEs.In the future,research should expand the scope of research,increase empirical research,and improve the stability of research findings.
