Exploratorium Way Of Being Successful

The cause of China Science and Technology Museum has stepped into the fast lane of innovation and development,so it is particularly important to absorb experience.The Exploratorium,which has been praised as "the whole model in the field of science and technology museums",is a concentrated reflection of the achievements of innovation and development of science and technology museums in the world today.Looking at the re-search in the field of science and technology museums,it is found that China's academic circles have visited and recognized exploratorium for many times,but there is a lack of systematic and comprehensive research on them.At present,the number of science and technology museums in China is growing rapidly,but there is a problem that they are same.In view of these situations,this paper will carry out a comprehensive and systematic study from the three dimensions of the history,concept and practice of the Exploratorium,and then extract the successful experience of the Exploratorium and provide usability knowledge and meaningful reference for the innovative development of the cause of the Chinese Science and Technology Museum.From the macro perspective of interweaving technology diffusion,era change and education reform,this paper analyses the historical motivation of the rise of Exploratorium,which contains the inevitability of the birth of Exploratorium.Through literature analysis,this paper combs the history of Exploratorium and divides its development into three stages.First of all,the initial stage of the Exploratorium has nurtured the core idea of "making as thinking".Second,with the continuous development of The Times,the Exploratorium has made a series of significant innovative breakthroughs in the form and content of exhibition and education,gradually releasing its potential educational value.Third,the private Ex-ploratorium has experienced ups and downs and challenges in its development.However,at a critical historical juncture,successive curators have skillfully used their wisdom and experience to turn challenges into opportunities,made key strategic choices and continu-ously injected new vitality into the growth of the Exploratorium.Through the study of the history of the Exploratorium,it is found that the reason why the Exploratorium can develop into today and become a holy place of the science and technology museum is due to the spirit of the Exploratorium.The author borrowed the concept of the family of Burton r.clark,a famous sociologist and researcher of higher ed-ucation,and named this spirit as"a family of Exploratorium".The founder Oppenheimer experienced the twists and turns of the scientific road and gave birth to the concept of education "making as thinking";Based on Oppenheimer,Goery Delacote further endowed the core idea with richer connotation,and proposed "hands in the real world" and "thoughts in the virtual world";Based on the new era of digital survival;Dennis Bartels advocates the public to gain insight into science in the open environment and two-way dialogue;In the context of the innovation era,Chris Flink advocates the integration of STEAM and makers to create a creative culture.It is the inheritance and development of core educa-tional concepts by generations of outstanding curators that makes the exploratorium be-come a unique science and technology museum in today's world.Guided by the core educational concept of "making as thinking",the Discovery Pa-vilion has a series of teaching and creative design and innovative practices that are a good interpretation of its vision and the purpose of education,namely,creating a new way for the public to recognize the world and encourage it.People ask their own questions,explore and find their own answers,understand the world around them,and make the world a better place.The coordinated development of the thesis from the three levels of hands-on,minds-on and hearts-on explains the connotation of the core educational concept of "making as thinking".Through the analysis of typical cases,it comprehensively demonstrates how the core educational concept of "making as thinking" runs through the the teaching resources design and public project practice of the exploratorium,and abstracts a complete set of design principles and flexible working framework for the creative design and practice of exhibition teaching,including the design of the exhibits,the creation of exhibition envi-ronment and the implementation of exhibition activities.The innovation and practice of the exploratorium has continued to develop,and it always has a huge influence in leading the development of the international science and technology museum industry,not only because it adheres to the unique educational concept,but also to the implementation of Security system and Operating mechanism.Through the investigation of the security system and operation mechanism of the upgraded to a new height,it needs to inherit and develop tradi-tional culture,adhere to and expand core concepts,and enhance the originality of exhibi-tion and education design and practice.
