Study On Impact Of Transportation On The Advancement Of Manufacturing Industry Structure

As an intermediate input service industry,transportation plays a decisive role in economy and industry.With the increasing status of our country in the world,our economic ties with many foreign countries are closer.Transportation,as a bridge of economic ties,plays a more important role.Therefore,transportation cannot be ignored.As an important part of economy,industry has a complex relationship with transportation.The upgrading of manufacturing industry structure has a strong dependence on transportation.Higher transport service capacity can promote the flow of factors and products,promote trade activities,etc.Therefore,strengthening the link between transportation and manufacturing industry is the basis of the development of manufacturing industry.Taking Jiangsu Province as an example,this thesis studies the impact of transportation on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure.On the theoretical aspect,on the basis of industrial economics theory,considering the production characteristics and product characteristics of manufacturing industry,this paper expands the impact of transportation on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure from the perspective of supply and demand.(1):Factor Relevance Effect;Transportation influences the flow of raw materials,capital and technology within and between industries through industrial agglomeration and regional opening,which further promotes the advancement of manufacturing industry structure.(2):Product structure effect;Transportation influences market consumption structure and product import and export structure through population agglomeration and foreign trade path,and promotes the upgrading of product structure,thus promoting the advancement of manufacturing industry structure.At the same time,considering the heterogeneity of transportation and industry,the impact of different modes of transportation on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure is analyzed in detail.On the empirical level,based on 16-year panel data of southern,central and Northern Jiangsu,according to relevant theories,a non-linear model of the impact of transportation on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure in Jiangsu Province is proposed,and the data fitting and robust test of the model are carried out.Based on the VAR model,emphasis is laid on the dynamic impact of different modes of transportation on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure through impulse response analysis..The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Transportation in Jiangsu Province can promote the advancement of manufacturing industry structure in Jiangsu Province,but the pull effect shows an inverted U-shaped relationship.When the manufacturing structure is at a low level,transportation can play a role in promoting the manufacturing structure to a higher level.However,when the manufacturing structure is upgraded to a certain level,the effect of transportation on the manufacturing structure to a higher level is shown as a negative inhibitory effect.(2)At the provincial level,all four modes of transportation can promote advancement of manufacturing industry structure,but the effect of the advancement of manufacturing industry structure on different transport mode is different,which is manifested in the inhibition of pipeline transportation.(3)Different transport modes in different regions have different impacts on the advancement of manufacturing industry structure.Railways in southern Jiangsu inhibit the advancement of manufacturing industry structure,while highways play a very weak role.Water transport has a more obvious role in promoting the advancement of manufacturing industry structure in the three regions.Based on the results of the analysis,this paper further puts forward relevant suggestions and suggestions for Jiangsu Province to optimize transportation resources and promote the u advancement of manufacturing industry structure at provincial and regional levels.
