The South Asian region with mutual cooperation from partnering countries has seen the development of many projects among which one of the prominent relationships exists between China and Pakistan and CPEC(China-Pakistan Economic Corridor).It is part of "The Belt and Road"(B&R)project,which is initiated by the Chinese Government in 2013.B&R is a mega project,which connects Asia with Africa and Europe.The objective of the CPEC project is to provide the link between Pakistan and China through highways,motorways,and rail network.CPEC is a multifaceted development project including road infrastructure,energy,industries and other projects planned to promote local connectivity between China,Pakistan,and Europe.This project is not only beneficial for Pakistan and China but also for other neighbor countries.Most probably,this project will open dimensions of local business in terms of transportation,industrial units,energy,health,and education.Pakistan will export the product with China in the field of textile,mineral,agriculture,and garments.With the development of CPEC tourism services will also increase in the northern areas of Pakistan.CPEC is a mega project which is dreamed by the Chinese government and will be materialized by the Pakistani government,and its benefit will positively be transferred to the local Pakistani community.CPEC projects in Pakistan is an initial stage,government officials and policymakers expected that CPEC projects are beneficial for the local Pakistani community;as this project generates many business and employment opportunities for local citizen's.Based on social exchange theory,this research study examines the benefit of the CPEC projects and its influence on local Pakistani citizen's living standards.Data was gathered using online resources namely Google platform from 670 respondents,residing in throughout Pakistan.In total 670 samples were examines and reported,for analysis SPSS using version 21 and AMOS software.The findings suggest that the attitude of local people towards CPEC projects is influenced by their benefits.Perceived education and employment have a significant relationship with perceived income and support for CPEC development.However,perceived economic has an insignificant relationship with perceived income,and have a significant relationship with support for CPEC project.Perceived income also has a positive relationship with support for CPEC development.Perceived accessibility also have an insignificant relationship with support for CPEC development.The existing study based on local resident's attitude and benefits related to CPEC development project in Pakistan.Author conduct this study using a literature survey,field investigation,and data analysis as a research method.The literature survey based on the review of literature of existing studies related to the local community support and benefits,aiming to receive a comprehensive review of existing literature as well to discover the research the gap in existing studies.The first author designs the research questions and acquires the information about the CPEC projects in Pakistan such as educational institutes,energy project,industrial parks,road,and transport infrastructure.During data analysis,the author used various data analysis techniques to confirm the reliability and validity of data,and test the hypothesis with regression analysis.The current study investigates the beneficial factors of CPEC and also provides recommendations for policymakers based on social exchange theory in many ways.First,this the thesis addresses an emerging topic of interest local Pakistani community attitude towards CPEC projects.The authors investigate the beneficial elements of CPEC projects and discuss their effect on local community living standards.Second,this study highlights the several factors to examine the supporting elements of CPEC projects,in order to provide diverse suggestions for policymakers of CPEC.First,the author investigates the existing CPEC projects,China-Pakistan friendship,and local residence benefits.Second,authors extend the insight to examine the impact of CPEC projects on local community living standards,and support of CPEC projects from local residents.Finally,based on the results the authors recommend some suggestions for officials and policymakers.From multiple factors,this thesis provides evidence to a deeper understanding of the backgrounds of CPEC.Thirdly,this thesis examines several influencing factors.CPEC is a mega project between China and Pakistan,which requires consideration of several factors.The author purpose to provide prudent conclusions on this topic by considering boundary conditions in this developing process.Drawing on this,the current thesis considers several factors including economic,education,accessibility,income,and employment.The consideration of boundary conditions not only increases the current theoretical knowledge but also recommends the various suggestions for the officials of CPEC projects for future projects.Findings of this study will guide the government officials and policymakers of CPEC about the perception of local residents.Policymakers can use the findings of this study to gain local citizen's support for the CPEC development projects and designs policies accordingly for future projects.
