Analysis Of The Income Mobility Measurement And Its Influencing Factors Of Industry In Chongqing

Income mobility is more concerned with dynamic income levels and rank changes.Therefore,studying income mobility is of great significance for coordinating industry development and achieving sustainable economic development.As a direct-controlled municipality of China,Chongqing is one of the major areas for implementing national strategic policies.The particularity of its position determines the necessity of its income mobility research.Many studies have focused on urban-rural and regional income disparities but few on income mobility in various sectors.This paper measures the income mobility of Chongqing’s industry through income transition matrix and other indexes.By taking the income mobility index as a modeling,the author analyzed its influencing factors and proposed some suggestions.Relevant theoretical research on income mobility and income distribution is reviewed in this paper.And the domestic and international research results of industry income in different sectors,income mobility,income mobility of different industries and the overall incomes standard of the municipality are also summarized here.Based on the descriptive statistical analysis of Chongqing’s industry incomes,the co-integration model and error correction model are established to study the influencing factors by measuring the income mobility of multiple sectors in Chongqing.First,the statistical analysis of the incomes is introduced.Including statistical analysis of the overall level and performance of incomes in Chongqing,the incomes level and trend of various industries,and the relative position of higher or lower income groups in different sectors.The study found that the industry income level of Chongqing is on the rise,the growth rate of income in different industries is different,and there’s a Matthew effect on people’s incomes in some certain sectors which causes the phenomenon of “Hierarchical Solidification”.Secondly,on the basis of summarizing the theoretical connotation and calculation method of income mobility,axiomatic method,welfare method and correlation coefficient method are introduced here to measure Chongqing’s industry income mobility.According to the statistics of Shorrocks index,King index,Hart index,it is found that the industry income mobility of Chongqing has been weakening year by year,and the improvement of social welfare and economic status of most industries is also weak.Finally,taking the Shorrocks index as the explained variable,the influencing factors such as Chongqing’s economic development level,macro policies,monopoly level,costs level of inter-industry human resource,inter-industry capital intensity and inter-industry employment scale as explanatory variables,the co-integration model and error correction model are established.It is found that the influence mechanism of different factors is different both in the long-term and short-term: the long-term and short-term performance are both positively affected by the employment scale of the industries while negatively affected by the degree of monopoly;the long-term impact and the short-term impact are inconsistent at macro policies and the costs level of human resource in different industries.Based on the above,suggestions are concluded as the following: to improve the income level of low-income industries;to create jobs and enrich employment channels;to reform income distribution in monopoly industries;to improve public fiscal system;to strengthen education and vocational training.
