The spatial interaction between cities is a classic issue in geography.With the understanding of geography spatial interaction shifted from Space of places to Space of flows,the paradigm of the city network brings a new perspective to the research of the relationship between cities.During the period of “new normal”,China's economic development model is shifting from being driven by factors and investment to be driven by innovation.As an engine of urban innovation,innovative enterprises are playing an important role in the transformation.As the leader and technology carrier of innovation technical knowledge,innovation-oriented enterprises can promote the exchange and dissemination of innovative elements in different regions through multi-location selection across organizations and cities.Therefore,based on the theory to discuss the relationship between innovative companies' linkages and city innovation linkages.This article studies the city network space structure through two methods by interlocking network model and Headquarters-branch methods by the data of 1778 innovation-oriented enterprises multi-location selection.Meanwhile,considering the multi-location choice of enterprises is the fundamental reason for drives of city spatial connection,a spatial interaction model is constructed to analyze the internal influencing factors of the Chinese city's network from origin city,destination city and spatial distance based on the multi-location selection of enterprises.This research is showing that:(1)the spatial distribution of innovative enterprises is uneven and the differences.The three megalopolis of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Yangtze river delta,and pearl river delta,led by Beijing,Shanghai and Shenzhen,are concentrated areas of headquarters layout of innovative enterprises,and also is the output highland and undertaking center of branches.(2)the city network based on innovation-oriented enterprises presents obvious core-periphery structure and small world characteristics.In the network,the advanced cities occupy the core position of the network.Among it,Beijing,Shanghai,and Shenzhen are the three poles of the network core,whether it is the ability to carry out network contact,or its ability to control and communication,has occupied an absolute position.(3)the spatial pattern of the city network is characterized by inter-regional large-scale connection and intra-provincial communication of geographical proximity effect.In the former,the triangular alliance of Beijing,Shanghai and Shenzhen forms the basic framework of the network.Based on this triangular alliance forms,the diamond spatial structure is built by the four apex of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,the Yangtze river delta,the pearl river delta and Sichuan and Chongqing regions.In the latter,the largest flow of innovative enterprises in many regional cities still points to provincial capitals within the region.(4)The cohesive Subgroup of the city network present a spatial pattern of "large dispersion and small agglomeration".The subgroup 5 composed of the core cities is scattered in the whole national space and interacts with the large scale space at a long distance.The other four subgroups are not fully developed and attached to the subgroup 5,presenting a "central" hierarchical transmission and hierarchical recursion.(5)The multi-location selection of innovation-oriented enterprises is the basis of forming urban network.In this process,the generation of innovation enterprise flow between cities is driven by the three aspects that the origin city,destination city and spatial distance.specifically,the economic,administrative and innovative factors in the cities of origin/destination are the important factors to promote the flow of intercity innovative enterprises.In terms of spatial distance,the flow of intercity innovative enterprises conforms to the law of geographical attenuation.Moreover,due to the common system,market,culture and other advantages within the province,intercity connections within the province are more likely to occur.
