In recent years,China's economy has developed rapidly.As an important part of the economy,enterprises have made great contributions.But,behind the rapid economic development of our country,we can see many phenomena which does not adapt to economic development,for example,the environmental pollution,food safety and the safety events occur frequently,not only reflects the lack of corporate social responsibility,but also seriously affected the people's life.The government,media,public and other stakeholders require enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities and put pressure on enterprises.However,in the same external environment,CSR performance varies greatly.Some scholars have studied the influence of executive team characteristics on corporate social responsibility based on the upper-echelons theory,but no specific analysis has been made on the internal mechanism of how top management team characteristics affect CSR.Previous studies have shown that the cognition of managers is the mediating effect of explaining the top management team characteristics to the corporate strategic decision.Attention is a key reflection of managers' cognition and is influenced by the characteristics of top management team.The factors that affect the decision and the strategic behavior of the enterprise will be affected by the attention allocation.This study combine attention based view and upper-echelons theory to study the relationship of top management team characteristics,external attention and corporate social responsibility,try to open the "black box" of top management team characteristics influence on corporate social responsibility.The study first reviews the upper-echelons theory and the attention basic view;Secondly,three variables of top management team characteristics,attention allocation and corporate social responsibility are reviewed.Then the hypothesis of this study is put forward based on theory.Thirdly,this study collects data through CSMAR database,HeXun,and Cninf.Finally,in the verification hypothesis,the study used Excel?QSR Nvivo11?SPSS20.0 to analyze the data and reached the conclusion of this study:(1)The more executives with overseas backgrounds in the top management team and the more executives with product orientation functions,the better the company will perform its social responsibilities;The average education level of top management team has no significant impact on CSR.(2)The proportion of senior executives with overseas backgrounds and the proportion of senior executives with product orientation functions have a significant positive influence on the external attention of the executive team;The average education level of senior executives has no significant influence on the external attention of the executive team;(3)The attention allocation of senior management team to external environment is positively affecting corporate social responsibility;(4)The executive team attention to external environment configuration in the proportion of executives with overseas background and product oriented function background proportion relations between the two characteristics and corporate social responsibility in partial intermediary role,and in the executive team average education level and does not play a mediation role relationship.Finally,some suggestions are put forward according to the existing conclusions.In this study,the enterprise focuses on the construction of top management team members and optimizes the structure of management team.To guide the company's top management team to focus their attention by holding regular meetings.We will strengthen the management of corporate social responsibility and set up special social responsibility organizations.
