The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between the heterogeneity of the top management team and the quality of internal control of the A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2016 in Shanghai and Shenzhen and examine the heterogeneity and internal control of the top management team for managerial discretion.The regulation of quality relations.In order to ensure the reliability of the results,this paper has adopted a lagging one-stage treatment.The results of the study show that the academic management heterogeneity,academic background heterogeneity,gender heterogeneity,and term heterogeneity of the top management team are significantly related to the quality of internal control,including academic qualifications,academic background,gender heterogeneity,and internal control quality.Positive correlation,term heterogeneity negatively related to internal control quality.Considering that the effect of the heterogeneity of the top management team on the internal control quality of the company is often influenced by the power factor,this paper will also examine the regulatory role of the managerial discretion in the heterogeneity of the top management team and the quality of the internal control of the company.Big managerial discretion can significantly strengthen the above relationship.The heterogeneity of the top management team will bring more multi-perspective and more responsive capabilities to the company in the face of complex issues.It may also lead to more conflicts and have a positive and negative impact on the quality of internal control.Enterprises should give full play to the positive influence brought by the heterogeneity of top management teams and eliminate negative impacts.At the same time,they must make good use of the regulatory role of managerial discretion.
