A Comparative Study Of China,Thailand And Vietnam's Direct Investment In Northern Of Lao PDR

Since the Laos economic reform and opening up in 1989 the Lao government to amend the relevant economic and trade,foreign investment laws and policies,the rapid economic development in Laos,Can seen from the 2000-2015 GDP value added rate reached 7%,The northern part of Laos PDR,the 9 provinces are hilly landform,the infrastructure is especially old,the transportation is not convenient,and other factors,resulting in more poverty and other places in Laos.Many years go the government continued to encourage domestic and foreign investors to invest in northern Laos,especially in the provinces have bolder with China,Thailand and Vietnam area has obtained the national government to encourage investment preferential policies.In order to attract the three countries the proportion of investment and more in other countries,especially to the effectiveness of Chinese in northern Laos,but there are still uneven regional distribution,unreasonable structure,many problems in the implementation.The first chapter discusses the policy of Laos economic development and foreign direct investment,the second chapter analyzes the investment environment of northern Laos,the third chapter Chinese,Thailand and Vietnam investment in northern Laos,scale and geographical areas,the differences of the fourth chapter three investment,analysis of reasons.Therefore,this study through two years to find relevant information and field surveys,especially foreign direct investment literature and case studies.This paper makes a comparative study of the investment preferences,the problems in the implementation of the investment,the impact of investment and the difficulties faced by the three countries.Because the investment in China and the market is different,in the same investment environment in northern Laos,Thailand and Vietnam,China foreign direct investment in northern Laos have different preferences,the China funds more abundant in northern Laos investment scale is large,wide area of investment;investment field and Thailand the scale is mostly followed between the government and the government signed a major investment projects and the long-term benefits of hope;and Vietnam and the Vietnamese enterprises hope to obtain quick returns,resulting in different investment scale,different investment areas,and different degree of investment.From an objective point of view,the study of its basic conditions or because of the geographical environment of northern Laos and the traffic conditions of investment constraints,which requires a certain stage of development can be changed infrastructure conditions.Because of many factors restricting China International Investment Mode in foreign direct investment,in order to attract more foreign investors to invest in Laos,but also to create a better investment environment,such as preferential policies,personnel training,system specification and software aspect,but also the need for the development of the cultivation of human resources,technology and so on.In order to improve the infrastructure,expand revenue,strengthen the economic strength,get real development.
