Gap waveguide(GWG)is suitable for millimeter wave systems because of its low transmission loss,low processing cost and low electrical connection requirements.Due to the large size of the traditional metal pin,only one row of metal pins can be placed between two linear arrays.Based on the EBG unit structure,a new type of microstrip printing unit is studied in this paper.Due to the thinness structure,two rows of microstrip printing units can be placed between two linear arrays.The main work of the paper are as follows:1.Study and Compare the antenna structure and performance of the groove GWG with a row of metal pins and two rows of microstrip printing structure between two linear arrays: First,by comparison,it is found that the coupling between two linear slot GWG arrays which place two rows of EBG units is much better than that place one row of EBG units.And the radiation efficiency and active standing wave performance of slot GWG arrays with two rows of microstrip printed structure as public walls are better than those with one row of metal pins as public walls.2.Design low sides-lobe arrays based on microstrip printed structure: In this part,we use groove gap waveguide with two rows of microstrip printed structure as public walls longitudinal slot as radiation units.The gap waveguide with traditional metal pins as EBG units is used as coupling waveguide and feed the radiation waveguide through inclined slots.And the normalized admittance and impedance of slots are extracted by electromagnetic software.A type of GWG_T equal power distribution structure is designed and a Ka-band GWG slot arrays with low sidelobe are realized.3.Design dual-polarized array based on microstrip printed structure: In this part,two single-polarized antennas are placed orthogonally to achieve high isolation between different polarizations.First,elliptical slots are used to widen the bandwidth of GWG slot antenna arrays.Then an asymmetry Ortho-Mode Transducer is to designed to separate two independent signals of the orthogonal dominant modes excited of the common port and supplies them to the fundamental mode of the allocated single polarization signal interface ports.Combined the GWG slot antenna arrays with OMT,a Ka-band dual-polarized array is realized.
