Frequency diverse array(FDA)radar is a new radar system which was first proposed at the 2006's international radar conference.Different from the traditional phased array,each element of the frequency diverse array uses different carrier frequencies with smaller frequency offset that forms the range-dependent beam,providing more application prospects,such as range-dependent interference suppression,two-dimensional imaging,space target detection and location,secure communication,wireless power transmission and so on.This paper focuses on the beam forming and array optimization design method of the FDA.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.A time invariant point beam forming method of frequency diverse array is improved.The beam formed by the linear frequency offset FDA exists coupling effect and is time-dependent which affects energy focusing and receiver solution.The paper analyzes the parameter influence,studies the spatial point beamforming method on the base of FDA beamforming theory,uses artificial bee colony algorithm to optimize the parameters.Further according to the time modulation array,proposes a time invariant point forming method.2.The sub-array beamforming and sparse beamforming based on frequency diverse array are studied.Due to the strong beam control ability and high gain,antenna array is becoming larger and larger that dramatically increases system expenditure.To overcome this problem,large arrays are usually subarrayed or thinned.This paper studies the sub-array beamforming and sparse beamforming based on frequency diverse array and analyzes the corresponding beam performance.3.A beamforming method based on frequency diverse array multicarrier to realize low sidelobe in range-angle dimension is improved.The radiant energy diffused in space due to the range dependence that causes high sidelobe,limits the range of application.In this paper,the effect of windowed processing on sidelobe of frequency diverse array is studied.The sidelobe suppression on the angle dimension is realized by introducing multi-carrier,and the sidelobe suppression on the range dimension is also realized by optimization algorithm.
