Crossovers with excellent filtering characteristics and compact diplexers have important application value in microwave and millimeter wave systems,and are currently a research hotspot.The design of planar crossovers and diplexers is mostly implemented by microstrip,but the disadvantages of large loss limit its application in high frequency bands.Based on the substrate integrated waveguide?SIW?,a variety of crossovers with great out-of-band rejection and miniaturized diplexers have been developed using dual-mode resonators.The major works are introduced as follows:?1?A miniaturized SIW filter crossover is proposed.The orthogonal degenerate mode TE201 mode and TE102 mode are used in the SIW square cavity to realize the cross-transmission of signals.Four TE101 mode resonators are coupled to the center square cavity to achieve third-order response,and the bandwidth can be controlled more flexibly.Thanks to the employment of TE101-mode cavities,the size of the whole crossover could be reduced about 35%,which effectively achieves the miniaturization.?2?Two SIW filtering crossovers with good out-of-band rejection are proposed.The transmission zero?TZ?is introduced by the cross coupling of the TE101 mode and the TE201mode in the rectangular dual-mode resonator,thus filtering characteristics can be obtained.In addition,the position of the input and output ports can be adjusted to control the location of TZs to be located on the upper or lower sideband of the passband.Based on the principle above,two SIW filtering crossovers are designed.The TE101-based miniaturized SIW filtering crossover introduces two TZs in the upper sideband of the passband,and TE201-based highly selective SIW filtering crossover introduces one TZ on each side of the passband,thus realizing the elliptic function response and obtaining good filtering characteristics.?3?A miniaturized SIW diplexer is proposed.The TE201 mode and the TE102 mode in the SIW dual-mode resonator are respectively used to form the low-frequency passband and the high-frequency passband of the diplexer.By properly selecting the position of the input and output ports,the two modes can be simultaneously excited in the common inputs port,while the two output ports are isolated from each other.
