A Study Of The Dunhuang Book "Shi Sen"

Shisen is the title of the manuscript P.2621 written in the colophon of this manuscript,and the most of the content of the manuscript S.5776 is similar to the content of the manuscript P.2621,so we speculate that the two manuscripts are the hand-copied books of the same one encyclopedia.And this encyclopedia has a close relationship to the encyclopedia Leilin.This thesis mainly refers to the following research based on the studies of historical literature:In the introduction,we review the researches involved to the two manuscripts,including the nature of the two manuscripts,the copier and the coping era of the two manuscripts.We point again the relationship between the two manuscripts and the Xiaozizhuan,and we think that the two manuscripts are from the same book.Shisen instead of the Xiaozizhuan.In the chapter one,we research the two manuscripts from three aspects:1)Write a new description of the two manuscripts,involving the contents,the shapes and the conditions of the two manuscripts.2)Correct the mistakes in the researches of the predecessor scholars about the author of the manuscript P.2621 Yuanyi that some scholars thought that the name of Yuanyi was found three times in the Dunhuang manuscripts.3)Research the relationship between the Shisen and Leilin from the stories copied and the different writing styles of these stories.And we think that the Shisen was transformed from the Leilin with the other encyclopedias copied too.In the chapter two,we research the books the two manuscripts quoted.The two manuscripts can be used to collect the pieces of these lost books and make collations due to the plenty books they quoted,and we try to collect the pieces of these lost books and make collations.Meanwhile,due to the author copied with a bad attitude,there are many mistakes in the two manuscripts.So we can not do enough research of collecting the pieces of these lost books and making collations.In the last part,we transcribe the more accurate text from the two manuscripts,and make a more accurate and more detailed annotates to the two manuscripts which are based on the researches of the predecessor scholars.Also,we correct some mistakes of the predecessor scholars.
