Gap Waweguide(GW)is a new type of millimeter wave guided medium.This technique is based on parallel plate waveguides,using air as a propagating medium,which,to a great extent,avoids the loss of dielectric materials.It is of great practical value to design a filter based on the ridge gap waveguide,which combines the advantages of the microstrip line.Therefore,this paper will focus on the design of the filter based on the ridged gap waveguide.Based on the research progress of gap waveguide and the research status of V band filter,several V band filters and cross coupled bandpass filters have been developed.The appearance of the gap waveguide is inseparable from the development of the electromagnetic band gap structure.Therefore,the characteristics of the electromagnetic band gap structure are deeply studied in this paper,and the finite element analysis method is used for numerical analysis of mushroom type EBG structure.Then we construct the overall model and microstrip transition of the gap gap waveguide,and develop two V band filters based on the ridge gap waveguide.The filter is designed by the traditional microstrip filter design method.The structure is simple,and it can be applied to engineering practice.In addition,a cross coupled bandpass filter with transmission zero points is also designed.Two kinds of tripole filters are designed by physical cross coupling and mode crossing coupling respectively,and a finite transmission zeros are introduced at both ends of the passband respectively.Finally,based on the design of the tripole filter,a five order V band bandpass filter is designed by combining physical cross coupling with mode cross coupling mode.There is one transmission zeros at each end of the passband.The measured results show that the V Band Bandpass Filter Based on the ridged gap waveguide is in good agreement with the simulation results,and has great engineering application value.
