Antenna is one of the most important hardware devices in communication system,whose bandwidth characteristics limit the performance of communication system.Therefore,antenna broadband technology come into being.At the same time,taking into account cost and space in practical applications,the size of the antenna needs to be controlled,resulting in various miniaturization technologies.With the rapid development of communications technology and the scarcity of spectrum resources,A higher requirement is raised for high-performance communication system.Broadband and miniaturized antenna is an inevitable trend and is widespread concern.On the other hand,the surge in the number of users and high-speed business requirements place demands on the quality of communication,which is closely related to the pattern of the array antenna.Therefore,this paper focuses on the broadband antenna,miniaturization and its antenna array beamforming in detail.At the beginning of this thesis,the relevant antenna fundamentals are introduced.Chapter 3 of the thesis describes the design process of a miniature single-armed,two-armed Archimedes antenna element.The disk load is used to adjust the matching,and the antenna is miniaturized by using the resistor and the grading end loading.The back cavity design is introduced to realize the directional radiation and increase the gain.Hereafter,Chapter 4 of the dissertation designs another broadband planar helical antenna unit operating in the L-band,and uses it as an array element to analyze its beamforming application in the array with the progressive space mapping algorithm.While the research of array antenna beamforming is time-consuming and labor-intensive,in the course of researching,the progressive space mapping algorithm have been to proposed to change the amplitude and phase of the antenna elements in order to achieve beamforming.The space mapping algorithm can only solve linear problem,while the progressive space mapping algorithm is improved on the basis of the space mapping algorithm,which can solve non-linear problem.
