As one of the 21 st century skills,critical thinking has been attached great importance by governments and educational institutions all over the world,and educational departments in various countries have taken improving students' critical thinking as an important teaching goal when carrying out educational reforms.Since the last century,many scholars at home and abroad have started the research on critical thinking intervention,and achieved many fruitful results,but there are also some shortcomings.Secondly,there is a lack of comprehensive use of effective teaching methods for critical thinking intervention.There is also a lack of critical thinking tendency and skills of the overall training research;Finally,the evaluation method in critical thinking cultivation needs to be improved.Therefore,based on the deficiencies of previous studies,this study adopts the experimental group-control group quasiexperimental design to conduct critical thinking intervention for college students.This study is divided into two parts.The first part investigates the current situation of college students' critical thinking to provide reference information for the next step of cultivation.In addition,it sets relevant family and school variables to find out the factors affecting college students' critical thinking at home and school.In the second part,the students of contemporary Chinese Literature were taken as subjects,and the students' critical thinking was cultivated through group cooperation,teachers' supportive feedback and critical thinking homework.The intervention effect and the change of critical thinking of students in the teaching process were understood by combining process and summative evaluation.The results show that :(1)the overall score of critical thinking tendency of college students participating in this survey is less than 280 points,and they have the lowest score in the dimension of truth seeking and the highest score in the dimension of intellectual curiosity,requiring critical thinking intervention.(2)College students who participated in sports activities once a week or more scored significantly higher in critical thinking tendency than those who participated in sports activities less than once a week.(3)College students with artistic works at home scored significantly higher in critical thinking tendency than those without artistic works at home.(4)After one semester of teaching intervention,the scores of critical thinking tendency and all dimensions of students in the experimental class and the control class of Contemporary Chinese Literature showed no significant change.(5)After a semester of teaching intervention,students in the experimental class of Contemporary Chinese Literature have significantly improved their critical thinking skills.
