China is a multi-ethnic country with a vast territory,different ethnic minority areas,in different natural and human geographical background,have formed their own regional characteristics and regional advantages,give full play to the characteristics of ethnic minority areas,and apply them to the teaching process,which is an important way to inherit and carry forward the traditional culture of ethnic minority areas.However,most of the minority areas in our country are located in remote areas,the teaching methods are traditional and backward,the students' learning level is poor,and they can not give full play to the characteristics and advantages of the minority areas.China's education law clearly stipulates that "the State shall,in accordance with the characteristics and needs of all ethnic minorities,help them to develop education.".By integrating the characteristics of ethnic minority areas into geography teaching,students in ethnic minority areas can better integrate theory with practice,grasp the knowledge and skills learned faster,adapt to the development of the times and the needs of society more smoothly,further accelerate the development of ethnic minority areas,narrow the gap between ethnic minority areas and developed areas,and realize education equity.I work in Wuzhong middle school,Wuzhong City,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.I have many years of geography teaching experience.With the help of the advantages of in-service postgraduates,I fully combine the characteristics of geography teaching in ethnic areas,based on humanistic teaching theory,development teaching theory and cognitive discovery learning theory,and from the perspective of combining theory with practice,I use literature research method Practice investigation method,comparative analysis method and inductive summary method are used to study the current situation of high school geography teaching characteristics in ethnic areas,in order to provide effective reference for geography teaching practice in ethnic areas and make a certain contribution to the realization of education equity in ethnic areas.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of geography teaching in senior high schools in ethnic areas,and combined with case analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The characteristics of high school geography teaching in ethnic areas are notsignificant.In ethnic areas,regional culture,resources and local culture can be used for teaching,but it is only limited to the geographical characteristics of the region proposed by the teachers randomly in the course of class;bilingual teaching in most ethnic areas only carries out bilingual teaching of Chinese courses.(2)The characteristics of high school geography teaching in ethnic areas are facing prominent problems.Restricted by the weak basic conditions of education in ethnic areas,there are few practical activities with local geographical characteristics;the pressure of examination oriented education limits the effective application of the practice with geographical teaching characteristics in ethnic areas;the unity of examination standards leads to the low acceptance of ethnic characteristics among teachers;students,parents and educators do not pay enough attention to the teaching with ethnic geographical characteristics.(3)There is a lack of teaching materials and school-based courses in the characteristics of high school geography teaching in case areas.In addition to the problems faced by the characteristics of high school geography teaching in ethnic areas,the curriculum of local geography and the application of school-based teaching materials in Wuzhong middle school are insufficient.Based on the above conclusions,this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and safeguard measures for improving the characteristics of geography teaching in high schools in ethnic areas.Countermeasures and suggestions:give full play to the advantages of regional resources;fully tap the activities with ethnic characteristics and apply them to the teaching process;carry out bilingual teaching according to the actual situation of ethnic areas;innovate the teaching mode of "supporting teaching + local teaching".In terms of guarantee measures: compiling local geography textbooks;improving the level of teachers;using technological innovation to promote targeted poverty alleviation in education;building professional teaching facilities;and increasing policy promotion.
