In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the role of social work service in solving the problem of the left-behind elderly in rural areas. The ethics of social work,as the lifeline of social work service, runs through the service all the time, and it is also the same in the social work service of the left-behind elderly in rural areas. As far as the development of social work in rural areas is concerned, the professional services of social work involved in the problems related to the left-behind elderly in the countryside have not yet formed a regular pattern,so the ethical dilemma of providing services for the left-behind elderly in the countryside has not been formed.Whether or not to make appropriate ethical choices is the key to providing high-quality services for the left-behind elderly in rural areas.Taking the social work service practice of the rural left-behind elderly carried out when the author participates in the "three-district plan" as an example, this paper selects the theoretical topic of "self-determination of the service object" and explores the different ethical dilemmas through specific cases. How social workers should make appropriate choices.Based on the on-the-spot investigation and professional service, this paper takes the cognitive behavior theory and the social ecosystem theory as the guidance, and adopts the methods of literature research, interview and on-the-spot observation.Based on the summary and analysis of the ethical issues involved in the social work service of the left-behind elderly in the rural areas(the value neutrality, the self-determination of the service object, the limited resource allocation and the confidentiality),the ethical dilemmas that may be brought about in the social work service of the left-behind elderly in the rural areas are analyzed. It mainly includes the following contents: one is the full value neutrality, the social worker and the rural left-behind elderly service object and the social work organization values are not consistent, the second is the dilemma of the rural left-behind elderly service object from the non-full or excessive self-determination;Third,the difficulties that may arise in the process of limited resource distribution and the allocation of unequal resources; The fourth is the dilemma between social work and rural left-behind elderly and their family members, other social workers and assessment agencies. At the same time, this paper analyzes the causes of ethical dilemma from the aspects of demography, ideology, cultural environment, social work itself, social workers' ability and government support of the left-behind elderly in rural areas.Taking "self-determination of clients" as an example, this paper explores in depth what role social workers should play in social work services for the left-behind elderly in rural areas, and what skills should be used to better serve the elderly left-behind in rural areas.Realize the benefit maximization of the service object. This paper mainly draws the following three points in the social work service of the left-behind elderly in rural areas: one is to play the role of service properly;the other is to give full play to the professional skills;the third is to fit into the tradition properly.
