In recent years,with the deepening of the reform of history curriculum in middle schools,the changes of history examination in high schools have attracted more and more attention.In this situation,it is of great significance to learn from the successful experience of foreign history examination and further enrich and improve the history examination system of middle schools in China.As one of the developed countries in education,Britain has adopted the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)examination with distinctive features.This paper chooses the history examination of IGCSE,which has typical characteristics,to study and analyze its content and characteristics,in order to provide some reference and inspiration for the reform of history education in secondary schools,especially for the history examination in secondary schools and the improvement of examination papers in history in the new era.Based on the theories of history and pedagogy,this paper gives a general introduction to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)examination in Britain,especially the history subject examination.On the basis of the full-truth questions of IGCSE history subject examination,this paper seriously considers the history of IGCSE examination in Britain.The characteristics and Enlightenment of the subject examination.This paper consists of five chapters: introduction and body.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly explains the purpose and significance of the study,the research summary,the research methods and innovations of the paper.Chapter two,the British secondary education system and the British International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)test,mainly introduces the basic situation of the British secondary education system and IGCSE test.Chapter three,the general situation of the history examination in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)examination in Britain,mainly introduces the form,main content and scope of the history examination in the IGCSE examination,as well as its reliability and validity.Chapter IV: The analysis and research of the history examination questions in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)test in Britain.Typical authentic test questions are selected for analysis,and the scoring criteria are enumerated.Chapter 5: The characteristics,enlightenment and noteworthy points of the history examination in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)examination in Britain.It also analyses the characteristics of the examination,the enlightenment to history education and examination in middle schools in China,and the points we should pay attention to if we want to draw lessons from it.The results of this study show that as one of the most successful history examinations in the world,the History Examination of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE)in the UK deserves our deep consideration.In the course of curriculum reform in China,it is necessary for us to broaden our horizons and learn from the experience of developed countries in world education.
