Social integration is a very important topic in the field of sociology research, and it is of great significance for the study of minorities or ethnics. The Buryats living in China are a cross-border ethnic group. They have been nomadic for generations. With the development of social economy, the nomadic way has gradually settled.Settlement means that the connection between the herd family and the settlement is getting closer and closer, and the herder family enjoys the convenience functions provided by the settlement community, and there are also such needs to be obtained through contact with the community. These Buryats spontaneously began social integration.Ay-il is the basic economic production unit that was born out of individual nomadic methods. It has not become a past with the history of nomadic methods, but refers to the “family” that conforms to the law of social development.A herd family is an Ay-il.This study uses qualitative research methods, specifically using the combination of literature, interviews and participatory observation methods,to conduct in-depth research and analysis of the Buryatia Mongolian living in the western Sumu of the Xi'ni River in Hulunbeier Ewenki Autonomous Banner in Inner Mongolia. As a family's social function,Ay-il plays a vital role in the process of social integration. The social integration of the Buryat Mongolian people is realized in the sense of these social functions of Ay-il.Furthermore,this study extends it to the social integration mechanism of minority groups, and concludes that the social integration of minority groups is the result of internal and external factors, including economic, policy, education, spiritual life and social interaction.Social integration is rules-based.Finding and mastering its mechanism is conducive to the effective implementation of minority policies, and thus promotes the process of integration of minority communities to promote ethnic intermixing and social stability and prosperity.
