Education is a human matter,a human event and a social fact that is both conscious and unconscious.The collective societal endeavor which is natural is the essence of education.The collective societal endeavor which is self-conscious is the ideal state of situation.Collective societal endeavor,as the initial state of education,has been dissolved in the process of educational modernization.The return of educational situation to the collective societal endeavor is not only the proper meaning of educational development,but also the corresponding realistic conditions,and at the same time,it will achieve transcendental development.The return and transcendence of the collective societal endeavor of education is that from the natural collective societal endeavor and the state of the centralization of school education to the collective societal endeavor which is self-conscious.The collective societal endeavor is the educational combined force of the educational organism,that is,education is the process of self-conscious effort by individuals,groups and society.Education,as a unique reality of human beings,is the process of organism existence from its formation.Education is an event about the survival and development of everyone and the whole human being.The collective societal endeavor made by individual education,school education and social education is its deserved state of affairs.Education as a collective societal endeavor is the necessity of unity of history and logic:collective societal endeavor is the precondition and form of the occurrence of educational events,and also the dominant and inherent consensus before the modernization of education;the social nature of people,the integrity of the participants,the process attributes of education and the organic nature of education decide the educational state is a collective societal endeavor.The elimination of collective societal endeavor in the modernization of education is mainly embodied in three aspects:first,the "fallacy of simple positioning",the tendency of mechanical reductionism and the "falsehood of actual misplacement" have led to the separation of educational space,the fracture of the educational process and the concealer of the true state of education.Thus,the organic nature of the educational situation is weakened;secondly,the interests of education are transformed from "personal interests to common interests" to "private interests and public interests",thus weakening the resultant force of educational organisms;thirdly,the centralization of school education has compressed the connotation and extension of education and obscured the non formal educational situation,making education a consumption of possessive resources.For education,the return of collective societal endeavor isn't to deviate from the modernization of education and cancel the school education,but not to return to education before the stage of modernization,but to change to a conscious collective societal endeavor in order to achieve a new transcendence,which is that the educational situation is shifted from the educational community to the educational organism;it reactivates the education consciousness and the educational power of each person,and inspires the social education responsibility to radiate the social education.The development of the concept and practice of complex process thinking,social education,lifelong education and education for all,and the new development of modern science and technology provide the practical conditions for the return and transcendence of the collective societal endeavor of education.The future view of the return and transcendence of education to the collective societal endeavor is the educational society of the education transformation for all,all the time,everywhere and everything.and education ecology with the immersion of educational situation.In the educational society,the collective societal endeavor of the society will realize the immersion of the educational situation and the sustainable development of the educational organism.The return and transcendence of the collective societal endeavor of education will stimulate the vitality and consciousness of the individual and the social organism,thus fully realizing the significance of education as a basic human right and contributing to the return of the educational situation to the existence of human existence.
