Self employment is a relatively common way of employment in China, and has a positive effect on reducing unemployment and promoting economic development and industrial innovation.Workers can enjoy more leisure time from self employment.Self employment also has the function of breaking the barriers of social class and enhancing the social status of workers.Whether in formal or informal occasions, state leaders have repeatedly mentioned and emphasized the need to promote innovation and entrepreneurship,to build and provide a social and political environment suitable for entrepreneurship. And Writing the whole people's self employment in the work report of the party and the country. Therefore, the study of self-employment not only has positive significance to individual career development, but also plays an important role in national social stability and economic development.Job satisfaction is an indicator of the psychological feeling of the worker on the whole work,is the key factor to retain and attract more workers to self employ.Job satisfaction also is the basis for the efficient and orderly development of self employment. But at present, the study of the self-employed person job satisfaction is relatively lacking.Based on management scale and number of employees and China Labor-force Dynamic Survey, this paper divides self-employment into entrepreneurial self-employment,growth self-employment and necessity self-employment,studies the relationship between self-employment and job satisfaction and the influence mechanism. In order to fully and accurately understand self employment, and lay a solid foundation for the research on the relationship between self employment and job satisfaction, this paper analyzes the impact of gender, education, age and other personal sociological characteristics on three types of self employment based on probit model. The empirical analysis of three types of self employment for workers is made, and the main conclusions are drawn as follows. The older the more growth may choose self employment;female workers were more likely to choose self employment growth, followed by entrepreneurial self-employed;rural workers on the chance to select various types of self employment are higher;migrant workers were more likely to choose entrepreneurial self-employed,the possibility of survival type self-employed and employees is relatively low;the higher the education level, the lower the possibility to choose self employment, employee education did not receive the most likely choice of survival type self employed;Party members most likely engaged in employment work;ethnic minorities are more inclined to engage in entrepreneurial and growth of self-employed workers living in the central city;the most likely choose self employment, followed by the western city and the eastern city of workers. The empirical analysis of multiple intermediary models draws the following conclusions:three types of self-employment have a positive effect on JS,and subjective social status(SST)is the significant factor that effects the JS of the self-employed.The optimistic SST is one of the mechanisms by which entrepreneurial self-employment leads to higher levels of JS.Although the lower SST level of growth and necessity self-employment has reduced their(especially the necessity self-employed)JS,but more freedom to work so that they work overall is still relatively satisfactory. We also find that sound social security has significantly improved JS;There is no difference on JS between women and men;Previous job training and longer working hours have reduced JS.Based on the above conclusions, some suggestions are put forward to improve the employment quality of self-employment and promote the development of self-employment from the aspects of improving the external employment environment and working ability of self-employment.
