With the development trend of economic globalization,science and technology are playing a more and more important role in the global economy,society,culture,education and other aspects.The progress of information technology is an important prerequisite for the development of education.Throughout the history of the world,from the end of the nineteenth century slide technology began to enter the field of education,and then to the beginning of the twentieth century,the development of electrical education to the present,advanced science and technology has promoted a revolution in the field of education.From the previous magnesium cameras,slides,film belts,radios,recording machines to today's TVs,disc machines,computers,multimedia technology and other applications in the teaching,which has enriched the means of our classroom teaching.we have provided a variety of auxiliary tools for education and teaching.Today's society has entered the information age.Computer based multimedia technology has had a profound impact on people's daily life.In the field of education,a teaching revolution dominated by multimedia technology is being carried out in an all-round way,which has a strong impact on the traditional teaching methods and educational ideas.Multimedia technology integrates multimedia materials such as text,image,audio,video and animation to process,store and transmit.It can make language teaching more vivid and situational,cultivate students' interest in language learning and improve teachers' classroom teaching efficiency.This study takes the teachers and students of Grade two,four and six of the H school in Yangzhou as the research object,drawing on the requirements of the technical ability of teachers' Educational Technology in the standard of technical ability of primary and middle school teachers' Education in December 25,2004,which is formally promulgated by the Ministry of education of the state.The attitude of multimedia teaching of the teachers and students,the quality of the teachers' multimedia teaching,the application and effect of multimedia teaching,the source of multimedia coursewares and the difficulties to apply to design the questionnaires.Based on the two groups of teachers and students,the present situation of the use of multimedia in primary school language teaching is analyzed.In addition,the author also draws on the previous scholars' research.As a result,the teacher interview outline and the classroom observation form are compiled.According to the outline of the interview,the Chinese teachers in Grade two,four and six are randomly selected to carry out interviews to further understand the application status of multimedia in primary Chinese teaching.The five teaching processes of introduction,expansion,consolidation,summary and operation are used to observe and record the teaching performance of the teachers,the students'learning states and the use of multimedia.On the basis of the survey datas,interview contents,and the analysis of the results of the classroom observation,we find out the problems and analyze the causes of the multimedia in the primary school Chinese teaching,and take the corresponding solutions according to the actual situation.According to the results of investigation,interview and observation,the author finds that the main problems of multimedia in primary Chinese teaching are as follows:(1)Teachers are difficult to coordinate the relationship between teaching content and teaching means;(2)Teachers lack sufficient understanding of multimedia equipment,the ability of courseware-making is low;(3)Traditional teaching concepts restrict the effect of multimedia teaching;(4)Teachers use less time to make coursewares independently and undertake heavier teaching tasks.Through the analysis,induction and summary of the four main problems,the main reasons are as follows:(1)Teachers lack the correct concept of multimedia teaching;(2)There is a lack of relevant trainings for multimedia technology at school;(3)The restraint of education of orienting the examination;(4)The lack of scientific teaching evaluation system.In view of the problems of multimedia in primary Chinese teaching,the author puts forward the following countermeasures according to the actual conditions and the reasons behind the problems:(1)Clarifying the relationship between the multimedia and the teaching contents and establishing a rational view of multimedia;(2)Schools should make full use of the existing resources and organize targeted technical trainings;(3)Enriching the knowledge of teachers' educational technology to break the constraints of traditional educational concepts;(4)A more reasonable teaching evaluation system should be established to ensure the unity of teachers'consciousnesses and behaviors.
