An Analysis Of The Northeast Asian Security Policy Of The Park Geun-hye Government

As the antennae contact ground and interests center of China,Russia,the United States and Japan,the Korean Peninsula gets on its neighbors’ nerves.Out of national security,every South Korean government put its focus on foreign security policies.In the respect of national security,Park Geun-hye administration convinces that there’s a need to readjust security policies of previous governments and South Korea needs upgrade relation with China as well as consolidate US-Korea alliance.For policies towards the North Korea,it’s necessary to explore a “third path” that easy to put into practice and also a combination of “sunshine policy” and tough policy,while North Korea’s behaviors always challenge its bottom line.At the same time,China and South Korea have many contradictions in policies towards North Korea that South Korea government believes that China has a negative attitude towards North Korean nuclear issue.Thus,South Korea starts to reassure the essential position of US-Korea alliance in national defense and implements tough posture towards North Korea and transfers security policies to China.During the governance of Pu Jinhui,there were many difficulties when carried on its foreign security policies and its efforts didn’t well pay off.The security policy of“deep right turn” has intensified the tensions between the north and the south and hindered the process of the denuclearization of the Peninsula.The strategic balance of the Northeast Asia was broken and the strategic partnership between China and South Korea was damaged.From a long-term point of view,when deal with the security relations of Northeast Asia,only to fully consider and respect for the interests of all countries,actively seek to reach the consensus and establish an effective and stable system for regional security cooperation,can achieve perpetual peace and prosperity for this region.
