With the advancement of China’s international status in recent years,China has become a constructive participant in international affairs.In the context of global governance reform,it is reasonable for China to improve international discursive power in pursuit of its national interest,and also the object demand for China to exercise its philosophies of responsible big power.The "strong West,weak China" pattern of international discursive power poses tremendous pressure on the construction of China’s international discursive power.Although the share of China’s discursive power on the international stage has increased,the effectiveness of it has been unsatisfactory.Therefore,the power of discourse cannot be effectively realized.The study introduced the concept of mediated public diplomacy proposed by Entman,that is "the head of state and that country’s foreign policy agencies try to influence the media framework of the target country through systematic and organizational efforts to activate and spread the public diplomacy of the target countries’ public perception of their own policies." It has a direct impact on target countries’ media coverage through strategic moves.The research adopts the framework of theoretical analysis of mediated public diplomacy.It illustrates the concepts,operating mechanisms,and influencing factors of the theory,and sorts out the historical evolution and practical content of Chinese mediated public diplomacy.On this basis,the study combines specific cases to analyze the operational strategies of Chinese mediated public diplomacy and further explore its effects.Combined with China’s actual situation,the study considers that the development of Chinese mediated public diplomacy has limitations such as the differences of culture and values,the delicate relationship between Chinese government and foreign journalists,also the media bias.Finally,the article proposes countermeasures. |
