A Study Of The Formal Language Of Collage Art

Collage,as an artistic technique,has a long history,but it was officially recorded in the annals of art history after the birth of modern Cubist art,Cubist avant-garde experimental artists boldly used collage techniques in order to achieve the realism of the picture.as a result,collage entered the field of art,became a practical technique,and was quickly known by the public.In the 20 th century,collage with the help of and integrated with different art schools,while constantly developing and improving its own system,the meaning of its existence has also changed with the innovation and expansion of artists.It has evolved from a simple artistic practice technique to an artistic concept with rich connotation.The change of the identity of collage art has undoubtedly injected fresh blood into the rigid art ecology and opened up a new development direction for modern art.Therefore,in the 21 century,in-depth study of collage art is of great significance for the diversified development of contemporary art.Collage art will certainly become the backbone of the field of contemporary art by virtue of its highly experimental and unique advantages.The initial creative technique of collage art is sticking,that is,artistic exploration with paper as the medium,but now,in view of the wide range of collage materials,the innovation of collage forms and the change of the concept of collage art,collage art is gradually associated with three-dimensional modeling.The shackles of planarity have long been lifted,and the novel collage art language is also in line with the demands of current art creators.As we all know,the technique of collage does promote the emergence of collage art,but we can not take collage as a simple artistic technique,but analyze the limitations of collage,the artistic concept and value contained in collage itself.as well as the impact of collage on other art fields,the research significance of these problems is far higher than the exploration of its techniques.In the development of modern art to contemporary art,collage has changed from tangible art techniques to invisible art concepts,which is not only presented in the field of art,but also related to other art fields such as photography,sculpture,installation and so on.There is no need to elaborate on the importance of collage art.The public’s rough understanding of collage is the collage and stacking of art,and this misunderstanding has existed for a long time.Therefore,it is necessary to sort out the development of collage art,analyze the formal language of collage art,and explain the existence and extension of collage art in the field of modern and contemporary art,so as to change the public’s simple view of collage art.This is my original vision of writing this paper.
