The Unity Of Technology And Art

As the cradle of modern design,Bauhaus school has trained many modern design masters.Kandinsky,as the pioneer of abstract art,has been teaching in Bauhaus for 11 years,and he is the longest serving master of art in Bauhaus.In the process of Bauhaus’ s "unity of technology and art" to "new unity of technology and art",Kandinsky’s "inner spirit" oriented abstract art concept plays an indispensable role.Therefore,this paper will analyze the influence of Kandinsky’s abstract art on Bauhaus.This paper starts with Kandinsky’s concept of abstract art and explores his contribution to the development and practice of Bauhaus’ s "combination of technology and art".The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter discusses the formation process of Kandinsky’s abstract art by combing the literature and his works.In the second chapter,through combing the relevant theoretical books of Kandinsky and Bauhaus,we can find the conjunction between Kandinsky’s abstract art and Bauhaus from their development and formation.The third chapter mainly analyzes Kandinsky’s main course in Bauhaus,as well as its teaching characteristics and theoretical book "point,line and surface",demonstrating Kandinsky’s contribution to Bauhaus design education.The fourth chapter demonstrates Kandinsky’s contribution to the development of Bauhaus design concept by analyzing Kandinsky’s exploration and practice of technology and art in Bauhaus.The main conclusion of this paper is that Kandinsky’s abstract art breaks the barriers between technology and art,and promotes Bauhaus’ s design concept from "the combination of technology and art" to "the new unity of technology and art".First of all,Kandinsky,as a pioneer of abstractionism,his comprehensive view of abstract art coincides with Gropius’ idea of "unity of technology and art".Secondly,his basic courses are guided by psychoanalysis,focusing on cultivating students’ artistic perception and stimulating their creativity,which has made outstanding contributions to Bauhaus’ design education.His book "point,line,surface" provides a theoretical basis for Bauhaus’ design.In addition,he actively explores the way of combining technology with art,and integrates the spirit of abstract art into the design,so as to make the perfect combination of technology and art,and promote Bauhaus to the direction of machine manufacturing.Its abstract geometric design style is convenient to reduce process steps,improve production efficiency,and realize batch production.
