As the enlightening textbook of Chinese tradition,the three character classic is a precious cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.It is the most concise and concise general history of China,presenting a comprehensive picture of Chinese history,astronomy,geography,philosophy,education and ethics.For more than 700 years since the southern song dynasty,it has been translated into many languages and spread abroad.However,as far as the literature data the author has at present,the academic research on the English translation of the three character classic is still focused on the comparative study of a single translation or two translations,and neither the selection of the translation nor the analysis of the translation is comprehensive and thorough.In view of this,this paper selects the 19 th century French Sinologist Stanislas Julien's translation as the research object,the main research questions are: what is the historical background of this translation? What kind of translation is this? How is the content arrangement different from other translations? At the same time,what are the values and limitations from a historical perspective?This article mainly USES literature method,history method,content analysis of "embedded" related information,including the related books,Thurber papers,journals,etc.,to carefully study,summarize,analysis,summary,from the history of Confucianism,lotus "embedded" on the general situation of the author,compiling background,compiling content,compilation style clear grasp.Try to Confucianism,lotus Sino-British DuiZhaoBen "embedded" objectivity,system and quantitative description of contents include words,schedule,discourse structure and overall arrangement characteristic,etc.,on the basis of in-depth study,comprehensive grasp and analyze the related contents of the translation,in order to come to the conclusion that the objective evaluation version of advantages and disadvantages.The content of this paper is divided into five chapters: the introduction and the general situation of Julian's chinese-english comparison "three character classics",the character analysisand arrangement characteristics,the concept of literacy teaching,and the basic conclusion.It is concluded that the exchange of Chinese and western cultures and the birth of many professional sinologists have become the necessary soil for the excavation of the translation of classic books similar to the three character classic.Confucianism,lotus "embedded" mainly include Chinese,214 radical table,the original English translation of three parts,and note to Morrison pinyin system,compared with the same period of the English translation "embedded" with innovative content arrangement,at the same time the author found that the translation has the representativeness of early Chinese textbooks,the method of using 214 radical table accords with the configuration law of Chinese characters,and follow the Chinese culture the students' special cognitive theory for Chinese characters.But the limitation lies in the systematic insufficiency of content arrangement and the phenomenon of mistranslation.
