Prosocial behavior refers to behaviors that benefit others, including helping, sharing, comforting, donating and cooperating. As social and social creatures, human beings need mutual cooperation and help to better adapt to social and environmental changes.Prosocial behavior can not only promote individuals to adapt to the society, but also maintain the existence and development of the whole society, which has important evolutionary and practical significance.A large number of studies have shown that prosocial behavior plays an important role in the academic performance, interpersonal relationship and physical and mental health of adolescents.Through three experiments, this study explored the influence of accidental similarity between college students on prosocial behavior and the mechanism of action, aiming to better cultivate college students’ prosocial behavior. In this paper,on the basis of previous studies, the "occasional similarity" between the patient and the patient as the independent variable,"patient interpersonal attraction" as a intervening variable,"the patient’s physical attractiveness" and "be patient belongs to" as a moderator variable,"be patient’s pro-social behavior intention" as the dependent variable, the related research hypothesis is put forward.Using SPSS.25 software,414 data obtained from three experiments were empirically analyzed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Accidental similarity is positively correlated with prosocial behavior. To be specific, when the supplicant and the supplicant have an occasional similar hobby/place of birth/school,the supplicant has a higher willingness to help/share/cooperate.(2)Interpersonal attraction mediates between accidental similarity and prosocial behavior.(3)Physical attractiveness had no significant moderating effect on the relationship between accidental similarity and interpersonal attraction.(4)Physical attractiveness moderated the strength of the relationship between accidental similarity and prosocial behavior. When there was accidental similarity between the seeker and the sought, the higher the physical attractiveness of the sought was,the stronger the willingness of the sought to share was.(5)Attributive need moderates the relationship between accidental similarity and interpersonal attraction. When there is accidental similarity between the seeker and the sought, the stronger the attributive need of the sought, the stronger the interpersonal attraction of the sought to the sought.(6)Attributive need moderates the relationship between accidental similarity and prosocial behavior. When there is accidental similarity between the supplicant and the supplicant, the stronger the attributive need of the supplicant is,the stronger the willingness to cooperate with is.
