Sima Qian And Chunqiu Gongyang Studies

As a historian of the Western Han Dynasty,Sima Qian was greatly influenced by the Gongyang School System of the Spring and Autumn Period constructed by Dong Zhongshu.Sima Qian's thoughts contain abundant Gongyang thoughts.Sima Qian not only inherited Dong Zhongshu's thoughts,but also had his own innovative understanding of Gongyang School.In the aspect of "great unification",Sima Qian praised the unification enthusiastically,and showed his unification view of ancient and modern times;he expressed his thought of respecting the king in the style arrangement of historical records;his Yi Xia view continued Gongyang School's tradition of "inner China,outer barbarism",at the same time,he insisted on distinguishing Yi Xia by culture rather than region or blood relationship,and accepted Gongyang School's thought of "entering into barbarism".In terms of the theory of "Tong San Tong",Sima Qian not only applied Dong Zhongshu's theory of "Tong San Tong" to the writing of historical records,but also put forward his own unique theory of "according to Lu" on the basis of Dong Zhongshu's theory of "Wang Lu".Sima Qian inherits and innovates Dong Zhongshu's thought of natural and human disasters.He agreed with Dong Zhongshu's theory on the relationship between man and nature,and further defined the connotation of "man".He made the difference between disaster and abnormality,discussed the specific personnel corresponding to the specific celestial phenomena,and developed Dong Zhongshu's theory of disaster and abnormality.The research on the academic relationship between Sima Qian and Gongyang School is helpful to clarify the important influence of Gongyang School in Spring and Autumn Period on Sima Qian's thought,and to find out Sima Qian's position in the history of Gongyang School in Han Dynasty.
