Research On The "一+X+下" Format In Modern Chinese

In modern Chinese,there is a construction of"Yi(一)+X+zhi xia(之下)",such as:一气之下,一惊之下,一怒之下,一念之下.These phrases are a kind of conventional grammatical constructions,as the semantics of which are not the combination of the component semantics.This thesis examines the scope and types of the X in the“Yi+X+zhi xia”,and then examines the syntactic functions,semantics and pragmatics of this construction.The main content of this thesis can be divided into three parts.The first part analyzes the scope of the X in “Yi + X + zhi xia” and the syntactic function of the construction.First,the part of speech and scope of X in “Yi + X + zhi xia” are analyzed.From the perspective of part of speech,the X can be verbs,adjectives,quantifiers and nouns.The number of nouns is relatively small.Action verbs,psychological adjectives and verbal measure words are the dominant parts of the other three categories.From the perspective of syllables,monosyllabic words are the dominant words that can enter the construction.Generally speaking,“Yi + X + zhi xia” is a four-character structure based on the monosyllabic verb X.On this basis,according to the part of speech of X,this thesis divides this construction into four categories: "Yi + verb + zhi xia","Yi + adjective + zhi xia","Yi + quantifier + zhi xia","Yi + noun + zhi xia",and explores the syntactic functions of each sub construction.It is found that "Yi + X + zhi xia" can be used as independent clause,predicate,attribute and center.However,due to the different parts of speech of the X,the syntactic functions of various sub constructions are also different.The second part analyzes the semantics of “Yi + X + zhi xia”.First of all,it analyzes the semantics of the four sub constructions of “Yi + X + zhi xia”,which is divided according to the part of speech of the X,and summarizes the basic semantics of “Yi + X + zhi xia”.The basic semantics of “Yi + X + zhi xia” is “an action or state occurs(which causes the result of a specific event)”.Because of the difference of the X,the semantic features of the four sub constructions are also different."Yi + verb + zhi xia" focuses on describing the occurrence of actions in a light and short time,"Yi + Adjective + zhi xia" focuses on describing the change of a certain mental or physical state of the subject,"Yi + quantifier + zhi xia" semantics focuses on the occurrence of objective narrative actions,"Yi + noun + zhi xia" xia " has no special semantics.The third part analyzes the pragmatics of "Yi + X + Zhi xia" from the perspectives of style and context.Generally speaking,“Yi + X + zhi xia” has obvious characteristics of formal writing style,but it can also be used in informal speaking style and literary and artistic style.In the context,the construction must co-exist with the resulting events caused by it."Yi + X + Zhi xia" is a grammatical construction with obvious formal features and prominent stylistic features,which is lack of attention from Chinese grammar scholars so far.This thesis can be consulted for the construction of the knowledge base of Chinese grammatical constructions and the study of Chinese grammatical construction...
