Anxiety is one of the most common psychological symptoms in the elderly.Adopting conventional treatments combined with music can better relieve the anxiety of the elderly. At present, most of the relevant researches on music therapy focus on clinical techniques, lacking basic theoretical research. The choice of songs with strong subjectivity,is mainly based on the preferences of nursing staff or patients, lack of analysis of the characteristics of music itself, which is blindness and randomness. Therefore, more detailed research is needed to further explore the effect of music on the anxiety of the elderly. This research conducts an empirical study on the effect of music mode and speed on the anxiety of the elderly.Using a combination of subjective reports and physiological indicators, two experiments were performed: Experiment one takes the inductive effect of music on emotion as the starting point, and then discusses the effect of music with different modes and speeds on the emotions of the young and the elderly.Experiment two takes the regulating effect of music on emotions as the starting point, and then discusses the effect of music with different modes and speeds on anxiety in the elderly with subjective assessment combined three physiological indicators. The conclusions are as follows:Compared with fast music in minor keys, fast music in major keys can induce positive emotional experience. The subjective anxiety of the elderly subjects listening to music in major keys is significantly lower than that of the elderly subjects listening to music in minor keys.Fast music can induce positive emotional experience more than slow music, and the heart rate of the elderly subjects listening to slow music is significantly lower than that listening to fast music. The heart rate and pulse rate of the elderly subjects who listened to the fast music were significantly lower than those who listened to the slow music in the recovery period after the music. In general, fast music in major has a better effect on arousal of emotional pleasure and calming of anxiety.Slow music can help slow the heart rate.
