The Creative Concept And Artistic Characteristics Of Wang Yifu's Works

Mr.Wang Yifu,a Chinese famous dulcimer educator,made outstanding achievements in dulcimer teaching,creation and performance.He was good at learning from others and brave in innovation,thus forming the performance style and idea of Northeast Dulcimer School.Through the research on his “eight major techniques” and performance style,it is easy to find that the current performance art of Northeast dulcimers is still based on his innovative achievements which enriched the performance techniques of Northeast dulcimers.It is worthy of reflection,study and exploration.General’s Command(Jiang Jun Ling)is a piece of music created by Mr.Wang Yifu in the 1960 s.It is endowed with strong artistic expression.While fully displaying the special technique of dulcimer,it reflects the artistic idea of the creator.In this paper,Wang Yifu’s representative music “General’s Command” is taken as an example to show and analyze his creative idea and artistic characteristic.The multiple factors of the formation of Wang Yifu’s creative idea are described in the first chapter.For example,the Northeast regional cultural environment factor in the first part,the original family art atmosphere factor in the second part and the learning and teaching experience factor in the third part.The causes of Wang Yifu’s creation idea are explained from the three aspects above.Mr.Wang Yifu’s creative idea is discussed through music analysis and adaptation technique in the second chapter.His creative idea about combining practice,breaking the single performance pattern and enriching the diversity of performance art forms is expounded from the perspective of music analysis in the first part.His creative idea about referring to other artistic forms is explored from the perspective of adaptation technique in the second part.The artistic characteristics of Mr.Wang Yifu’s works are discussed in the third chapter.Some works including General’s Command are taken as an example to expound the artistic expression and sound charm of the “Chanzhu”,“Huazhu” and “Rouxian”techniques of dulcimer in the first part.The control of timbre about "Loudness","Colorfulness" and "Briefness" is analyzed according to Mr.Wang Yifu’s special requirements for timbre in performance in the second part.Finally,the inheritance and promotion issues are analyzed and summarized.
