From four aspects in the origin of faith,the characteristics,the classification and the catalogue of hand knack to analysis the mediumistic altar which dominated by the north of Long Hui,we can find that the Meishan hand knack is the key religious art form for clergymen to communicate with ghost and god in Meishan mediumistic altar.Its artistic language expression combines folk witchcraft and Taoist ritual style.The main subject of the use of Meishan hand knack is the polytheistic belief which has the ancestor worship about “when you dead,your soul will come back to your hometown”.The hand knack will assist the "Live Meishan" hunters and clergymen to become “Man-god” and do some benefactions to become “God” with the power of heroic ancestors and ghosts and gods.Its communication with ghosts and gods is mainly manifested in the two aspects of "harmony" and "celebration" in the ceremony.Meishan hand knack run through the primitive agricultural economic production activities and many scientific contents of Meishan cults.It uses the language form of shape imitation and signification to complete the functions of doing cordial invitation,praying for blessing,and exorcising evil.This article contains a total of 55 different Meishan hand knacks,of which 37 are completely different from the published techniques of Meishan Research.Just for reference.
