With the development of The Times,the forms of artistic expression are becoming more and more diversified.Looking at the present situation,many Chinese paintings emphasize the connotation rather than the traditional forms of brush and ink,and emphasize materials rather than spiritual pursuit.Fu baoshi is a modern Chinese character.This paper starts with the figure painting of fu baoshi,a modern painter,and makes a comparative study of the stylistic characteristics of fu baoshi's paintings.Firstly,this paper discusses the reasons for the formation of fu baoshi's figure painting style from the two parts of "reading history" and "learning from the ancient".The second part analyzes the stylistic characteristics of fu baoshi's figure painting from three aspects: modeling characteristics,brush and ink language,and painting style.The third part compares with the painters of the same period xu beihong and jiang zhaohe to highlight fu baoshi's excellent quality of sticking to the traditional way of brush and ink in the context of the impact of western art trends on Chinese painting,and then summarizes the significance of fu baoshi's artistic thought to the creation of contemporary Chinese painting.Mr.Fu baoshi has always held a reverence for the traditional Chinese culture,inherited the tradition rather than the past,injected his strong patriotic feelings and national feelings into the picture,and created a large number of epic paintings of historical figures.In today's modern era,fu baoshi's artistic creation is still of great significance.His rigorous attitude of scholarship and his artistic proposition of making use of the past to create the present also have positive inspirations for the creation of contemporary Chinese painting.
