Fang Jian Was Born Full Of Swelling

When facing the hard materials such as stone and wood,the sculptor do "subtraction" by a knife,a chopper and an axe to cut on them,while the clay sculpture generally develops from nothing by "addition".The works created by different materials and different ways have their own unique language of model.From the perspective of the author,as a sculptor,this paper the discusses the "subtraction" thinking of hard material sculpture and the "addition" thinking of clay sculpture by listing specific sculptural works,puts forward the characteristics of the modeling language after the integration of "addition and subtraction" thinking,and discusses the unique artistic charm of the modeling language of " square,simple,full,expansive,thick and rebirth".The first two chapters of this paper respectively discuss the material characteristics and language charm of "subtraction" carving of hard materials and "addition" of clay sculpture,as well as the limitations of their own language development.Then it puts forward the "addition and subtraction" modeling thinking after the integration of the two modeling languages,and the "addition and subtraction" thinking provides a new methodology or thinking path for sculpture creators.Under the thinking of "addition and subtraction method",the author summarizes the linguistic characteristics of "square,simple,full,expansive,thick and rebirth ",discusses the understanding of "modeling restriction" in "addition and subtraction method" modeling language,and the application of "dimension reduction and compression" in creation.Among them,this paper enumerates many sculpture works to help the discussion deliberately excluding the concepts of theme,sense,sociality and literariness,focusing on the interpretation of the relationship between materials,works and creators from the modeling language of the works.Through the discussion of the integration of "subtraction" thinking and clay sculpture language in this paper,it is also an in-depth theoretical combing and summary of my own creative thinking and Practice for author's three years of Postgraduate.I try my best to be unconventional and meaningful in expressing views and attitudes when I think about artistic creation.It would be very gratifying to have one or two insights.
