Because of the remote geographical location of Xiangxi,when it comes to Xiangxi,people's impression is more complicated.Especially since modern times,Xiangxi always seems to present a state beyond existence to the outside world.Correspondingly,in the written texts about Xiangxi,especially those written by outsiders to Xiangxi,Xiangxi is a cultural image that transcends its geographical concept and integrates barbarism and violence.Even the description and imagination of Xiangxi's image have formed the stereotypes of "Barbarian" ? "Bandit" ? "Witch" ? "Fictitious land of peace".In fact,this is not the case in Xiangxi and Xiangxi people.There are obvious differences between the "other imagination" of Xiangxi image and the real existence of Xiangxi,as well as the "self-expression" of Xiangxi people.Simple statistics show that "Self-expression" and "Imagination of others" about the image of Xiangxi,the former in a weak position,which is not only reflected in the lack of attention to the "self-expression" of the image of Western Hunan,but also in the lack of the "self-expression" discourse.The local chronicles of Xiangxi in the Qing Dynasty,especially its historical literature and artistic writings,it's an important document library for understanding the image of Xiangxi people,and there are various and colorful Xiangxi people.It can be found from here that the image of Xiangxi people after the completion of the Qing Dynasty's "Gai Tu Gui Liu" has taken a significant turn,compared with the more ancient Xiangxi people.What should have been the past discourse about the remarkable differences between Xiangxi people should have become historical discourse.However,the full "self-expression" of Xiangxi local chronicles was not widely spread in the era of document production due to the seriousness of its documents,more and more,its spread has been neglected since modern times.The images of Xiangxi people in the historical biography of Xiangxi local chronicles and artistic writings in the Qing Dynasty,on the one hand,reflect the rigidity of the classical Xiangxi imagination;on the other hand,it is also more important.It truly records Xiangxi people and events in the past 200 years since the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong and Yongzheng,and more comprehensively defends the distortion and even stigma of Xiangxi people in the past ancient documents,in the existing 30 local historical documents in Xiangxi,there are more than 8000 people of all kinds recorded in biographiesof short and long characters,historical events and art and literature annals,there are Xiangxi soldiers who are worried about the country and the people,there are tragic and brave heroes of Xiangxi people,there are who advocate benevolence,righteousness,simplicity and kindness,and intellectuals who are influenced by Han culture,like many excellent "Han people",they are the embodiment of social justice and the praise object of the mainstream society.There were also a group of "negative" heroes in the society at that time,who also had the dream of pursuing justice and the beauty of indomitable human nature.It also records a group of aesthetic images advocating women,which is very different from the image of Xiangxi people in the literary works or film and television works we see today,especially in the eyes of others,it's different from argument of "Barbarian" and "Bandit" at least.There are many reasons that affect the formation of Xiangxi image.It is the product of internal and external alternation,mainly for the following two reasons: the internal cause is the indomitable and unyielding of Xiangxi with a long history.As early as in the period of Yao,Shun and Yu,they were forced to use force,experienced many times of practice baptism,learned to rely on their own strength to survive and develop,and created the unique personality of Xiangxi people.This kind of individual character shows patriotism spirit in national justice,and in the minority of Xiangxi people,it shows heroism worship.The external strong factor is the influence and infiltration of Chinese language and culture.Before the Qing Dynasty "Gai Tu Gui Liu",the influence of Chinese culture was mainly in the upper class society of Xiangxi region,which was beyond the reach of ordinary people.This imbalance of "resources" even deepened the contradiction between the ethnic minorities in Xiangxi region to some extent.After the Qing Dynasty "Gai Tu Gui Liu",a large number of academies and righteous schools were established in Xiangxi area,which laid the foundation for the cultivation of talents in Xiangxi area.In addition,local rulers attached importance to education and various preferential policies for imperial examinations,Xiangxi scholars actively studied and took exams one after another.As a result,a large number of Xiangxi local scholars came into being in Xiangxi area,such as Juren and Bagong.Some of these local people of insight who grew up in western Hunan have even been incorporated into the national and local management levels,becoming the defenders and managers of the Qing government's new order in western Hunan.Han culture found suitable soil and thrived in Xiangxi area,which promoted the promotion of ritual system in Xiangxi area and further promoted the "ssimilation" of Xiangxi area.From the perspective of "self-expression",with Xiangxi as the main body in the historical literature of Xiangxi in Qing Dynasty,combined with different aesthetic perspectives of "the other" and "self",Xiangxi image aesthetics can be diversified.Different perspectives create different text types,thus bringing different reading experiences to readers.Through text analysis from two different perspectives of "self" and "other",Xiangxi image will be enriched.Stereotypes of Xiangxi people's images such as "barbarian" and "bandit",the objective "justification" by Xiangxi local chronicles,an important document and historical data base can be interpreted as two aspects.On the one hand,who stereotyped the "barbarian" of Xiangxi people and why the concept of "bandit" was generalized.On the other hand,the "barbarian" was defended and the "bandit" was interpreted,thus solving various "misunderstandings" and revealing the neglect behind "justice" to restore the relatively real image of Xiangxi people,so as to realize a more artistic reality of Xiangxi image.
