Gong Dingzi was a famous poet and writer in the late Ming and early Qing.Because of his Li Shiming,Li Zicheng,Dashun,and Qing dynasties,he was listed as one of the two ministers.Gong Dingzi’s achievements in poetry are particularly outstanding.People sometimes refer to him and Qian Qianyi and Wu Weiye of Jiangnan as "the three great people in Jiangzuo".In fact,Gong Dingzi was not only a famous literati and official from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,but also a calligrapher.The introduction part of the current related Gong Dingzi generalizes the research status quo,and on this basis,from his family life,traveling and educational background,as the breakthrough point,combining Gong Dingzi practice calligraphy,calligraphy thought and influence on later generations and revelation,give Gong Dingzi calligraphy achievements in a relatively objective historical position.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter analyzes the life experiences of the Gong family and Gong Dingzi,and explores the influence of his family background and teacher.Gong Dingzi’s life was ups and downs,and her reputation was extremely high.Both her grandfather Xuan Jiangong and her father Gong Fusu had negative names.Therefore,due to the influence of the family environment,Gong Dingzi was a child of poetry and had a profound cultural accomplishment.The second chapter mainly discusses Gong Dingzi’s life-long friendships and love.Zhu Yizun,who had funded aid to study in Beijing,rescued Fu Shan in prison,and often wrote poems with his friends Wang Duo,Ji Yingzhong,etc.These people had a direct or indirect influence on the formation of Gong Dingzi’s calligraphy style.The third chapter mainly analyzes gong Dingzi’s calligraphy achievements,especially the style of his cursive calligraphy works.Gong Dingzi’s calligraphy advocated the ancient elegance,and sought the peculiar in the ancient elegance.The style of calligraphy was natural and elegant,and he had the spirit of literati.Calligraphic works are mostly inherited from the style of the second king’s calligraphy,which seeks after the ancient method and embodies the peculiar in the elegance,forming a style of writing that is both sincere and natural.In addition,gong also increased the strength and roundness of the lines in the process of writing the enlarged small characters,overcoming the problem of "not being able to bear the sight" after the enlarged small characters.His subtle brushwork,with obvious changes and rich levels,brought the calligraphy form of the long scroll shaft into full play and injected new blood into the formal beauty of calligraphy.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes Gong Dingzi’s collected works,luhuan yuan manuscript and dingshantang collected works,etc.,and summarizes gong Dingzi’s thoughts on calligraphy.His thoughts on calligraphy are not only the universality of ancient literati scholars,but also the particularity in the change of times.Under the influence of Confucian culture,Gong Dingzi emphasized the importance of cultural accomplishment and knowledge in calligraphy learning.Influenced by the experience of two ministers,it also emphasizes the importance of highlighting personality.Finally,combined with the analysis and research of the above chapters,the author summarizes and evaluates Gong Dingzi’s calligraphy achievements.
