Giuseppe Tartini is a brilliant Italian composer, violinist and music theorist at the end of the 17 th century and the beginning of the 18 th century. He has achieved a great deal in all the fields he covers. He has written a large number of violin sonatas and concertos. What's more,he has also created many creative theories in music teaching and the research of musical instrument skills.Unfortunately, the number of theoretical works that Tartini has been circulating to this day is small due to the conservatism of the Italian Church at that time, the backwardness of publication and printing, and Tartini's teaching and discussion by letters.Only some of his more well-known works, such as The Devil's Trill and Dido Abandoned, have survived, and the original manuscripts of these works are even missing. The Devil's Trill is one of the peak works of Italian violin sonata in late Baroque period.Italian violin works are well reflected in this piece of music with the features of singing melody, paying attention to music decoration, rhythm jumping and continuity. This paper will focus on how to perform the sonata better and more accurately, and is divided into three parts to deductively analyze the style and performance of Tartini's Violin Sonata--The Devil's Trill. The first part is the life story of Tartini and the creative background of this work. The second one is the analysis of the music structure and music form of the work. The third part first analyzes the practice methods of the difficult segments in the work, and then combines the features of the times to analyze the style control in the actual performance process.Via an in-depth analysis of The Devil's Trill, this paper probes into the creative and deductive style of the Italian violin works in the late Baroque and early classicism, and puts forward some referential advice for practicing and playing the work.
