Beijing Light society is the first photographic group in the modern history of China.Its establishment and development are in the modern transformation period of Chinese culture.This paper takes the photography group of Light society as the research object,and through the analysis and research of the activities of the members of Light society,explores a series of change in aesthetic concepts brought buy the encounter between technology and art and the collision between traditional Chinese aesthetics and western artistic concepts in the Republic of China.The member of Light society combine traditional Chinese aesthetics with western ideas,and create a batch of excellent photography works,and finally form a set of photography styles and ideas with Chinese localization and nationalization.This paper will start from the light society film festival and film festival and photographic yearbook to try to classify their photographic works.Through two angles of realism and freehand brushwork,this paper considers the pioneering nature of light society photography to modern and contemporary photography.From the perspective of visual modernity,this paper compares the differences and connections between Chinese and Western photographic creation and aesthetic concepts,and explores the changes in the way of viewing and aesthetic appreciation brought by photography as a medium.At the same time,it also reflects on the connection between the aesthetic ideas and the aesthetic expression of the artistic categories the take photography as the bridge,such as painting and film.Finally,I hope to provide a certain perspective and help for the study of Chinese visual modernity through a comprehensive analysis of the photography group of The Light society.
