Research On "Heart Sutra" In Xixia Script

The heart sutra is the essence of mahayana Buddhism and its translation has always been concerned by the academic community.After the author reading Fang Guangchang's book "Prajna Heart Sutra",he thinks that "Prajna Heart Sutra" had been translated 21 times,but not including“Prajna Heart Sutra" in tangut.The author's collation and translation of the literature on the heart sutra of the Xixia dynasty filled in the gap in this part of the research.The author finds that since its introduction into the Xi xia dynasty,the heart sutra has been translated into at least six different Xi xia texts,including newly translated Chinese and Xi xia texts,which is not only unique in the translation history of Xi xia buddhist sutras,but also extremely rare in the whole Chinese buddhist sutras translation history.As mentioned above,it is certain that prajna heart sutra has been translated 27 times in China.This research makes a comprehensive review of the Xixia Heart Sutra,differentiates the brief version from the extensive version,explores the spread of the Xixia Heart Sutra,and makes a comparative analysis between the Da Prajna Sutra and Xixia Heart Sutra,to study their translation features.Textual research indicates that Xixia monks Dehui is Tibetan monks.This reseach makes a systematic combing on the division number,name and translated buddhist scripture,investigates translated version of Dehui Xixia Heart Sutra,and also makes a comparative analysis on different versions of Xixia Heart Sutrathe,in order to increase the variety of Heart Sutra and make it easy to interpret Heart Sutra.Starling from the edition of Xixia Heart Sutra,the research makes the general picture of Xixia Heart Sutra,Heart Sutra Zhushu,Jiasong Heart Sutra,Chisong Heart Sutra.It also annotated the related inscriptions of the Heart Sutra,so as to truly and clearly restore the cultural information of the Heart Sutra of the Xixia dynasty.
