| Internet application and the emerging new technologies promote the development of digital business discourse studies.With the increasing number of digital media users,the use of digital business English has become an important part of business communication and a research focus in business discourse studies.More and more scholars are paying attention to the use and communication function of digital business discourse.Based on the theory of Applied Linguistics,this study constructed theoretical framework which was mixed with the current contributions by the study on the discourse analysis,business discourse and business English.In addition,the research quoted the corporate annual report as an example and selected the official annual reports of 9 multinational companies in the past three years as well as the digital annual reports released in their microblogs.With the use of Nvivo 12 Plus,the study was attempted to compare their similarities and differences on both official and digital formats in terms of language and non-language aspects,namely,discourse structure,language,content theme,emotion,genre,etc.and developed the implications on business discourse analysis and communicative strategies in business communication.Finally,the author hopes this essay could provide some references and promote the further development for business English research,business communication,translation,curriculum construction,workplace training and other research field. |
