Research On The Language Of News Headlines Of "Mudanjiang Morning News"

The title is the "eye" of the article,especially the news title.As an important part of headline language,news headline has always been a hot topic in academic research.News headlines have a high degree of generality.Whether a news headline has enough "eye-catching" depends on whether it is novel or not.This paper intends to study the news headlines of Mudanjiang Morning Paper from a linguistic perspective.The first chapter discusses the vocabulary and its characteristics in the headlines of Mudanjiang Morning Paper.Nouns and numerals are frequently used in basic vocabulary;dialect words,network words and loanwords are frequently used in general vocabulary.On the whole,vocabulary is characterized by frequent use of pronouns,extensive use of abbreviations and new meanings of old words.The second chapter analyzes the syntax of news headlines.In the common sentence patterns,the title is divided into single sentence title and complex sentence title.In the aspect of single sentence,the general structure and special structure of single sentence title are analyzed;in the aspect of complex sentence,the structural characteristics of complex sentence title and the structural relationship of complex sentence title are analyzed.The common sentence types of news headlines are declarative,interrogative,imperative and exclamatory.After investigation,the proportion of declarative sentence is the highest,and that of imperative sentence is the lowest.In addition,it also analyzes the structural advantages of single and complex sentences.The special structure of news headlines mainly includes the omission of special predicates with objects,new types of headlines and grammatical components.The third chapter studies the rhetoric and pragmatics of the headlines of Mudanjiang Morning Paper.In terms of rhetoric,we have summed up seven figures of speech commonly used in news headlines,among which the popularity of metaphor,analogy and metonymy can help readers better understand the news content;parody,exaggeration,irony and antithesis are skillful articles in form.In terms of pragmatics,the news headline of Mudanjiang Morning Paper is not only objective but also subjective,which makes Mudanjiang Morning Paper not only have value leading role,but also full of strong human feelings and more close to its purpose of running newspaper.
