| Technological advancement enabled the application of multiple techniques to be applied in archaeological excavation and research. These techniques include computer graphics and image technology, modern mapping and remote sensing technologies, geographic information technology and database technology, the integration of which has promoted the emergence and development of digital archaeology.Archaeological information to be fully digitized, therefore, becomes possible. In order to meet the increasing needs for digital archaeology research, more and morel information has been collected and archived into the database through the application of new techniques.Meanwhile, digital technology and new media technologies are rapidly developing.Computers, smartphones and the Internet are widely being used. They make information available and accessible at anytime and anywhere for the general public.During the 18 th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping talked about the importance of cultural relics preservation on many occasions.Responding to Mr.Xi’s talk, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance jointly proposed the three-year plan of “Internet + Chinese Civilization” for which, many museums published digital content online, established their digital galleries and opened their own collection database to the public. In archaeological practice, although archaeologists collected and generated a large amount of available data, they rarely use it for public display resulting in that only a small amount of information is available for the public. The unpublished information is left without being properly used.To tackle the problems mentioned previously, this paper aims at finding a possible model for the digital archaeological information to be well displayed. This paper will give a brief summary of currently available information collecting methods and types of archaeological data in archaeological practice. It is hoped for that through a new exhibition method,it is possible to create a brand new experience for the general public, which shows our cultural relics from various and distinct perspectives. |
