Personality is the unique way of thinking that constitutes an individual. The important characteristics of emotion, behavior and psychological motivation are also one of the important characteristics that distinguish a person from others.People tend to express their emotions differently according to their personality traits.Language is one of many ways of expressing emotions. The study of personality phonetic attitudes is an attempt to explore the differences in phonetic acoustic characteristics of people with different personality traits when expressing different emotional attitudes.Previous studies have found that people can judge different personality characteristics according to acoustic clues and prosodic characteristics.People were more likely to judge those with more vocal changes as individuals with higher scores for extroversion and conscientiousness.Although some studies have proved the relationship between personality and phonetics, the current research on the relationship between personality and phonetics has paid little attention to emotional attitudes and many studies have focused on English,French and German, and less on Chinese.By the ways of output experiment and perceptual experiment, the paper examines the influence mechanism of personality traits on the production and perception characteristics of positive and negative attitudes. The experiment is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the complex relationship between personality and the prosodic features of attitudinal speech, such as pitch, intensity and duration. The second experiment examined the listeners’ perception differences of attitudinal speech of different personality traits speakers. The first part shows that the pitch range, pitch slope and maximum pitch of the high extroversion group are significantly larger than those of the low extroversion group in expressing positive attitudes, but there is no significant difference in negative attitudes. When expressing negative attitudes, the average pitch, the average intensity and maximum intensity of the high extroversion group are significantly larger than those of the low extroversion group.Whether positive or negative, the harmonic noise rate of the high extroversion group is significantly higher than that of the low extroversion group. When expressing positive attitudes, the speakers of the low-agreeableness group has significantly higher baseline standard deviation, baseline slope, mean values of f0,and baseline frequency range than those of the high-agreeableness group, but in expressing negative attitudes, the high-agreeableness group significantly smaller than the low-agreeableness group;the harmonic noise ratio of low-agreeableness group greater than that of high-agreeableness group. The second part shows that the self-rated high-score extraversion group and the high-score agreeableness group have significantly higher scores than the self-rated low-score group. The above experiments provide sufficient evidence to prove the differences in attitudinal speech and grouping of extraverted traits and agreeableness straits. The output experiment finds that the extroverted high-low group and the agreeableness high-low group use different prosodic strategies in expressing positive and negative attitudinal speech. The perceptual experiment shows that attitudinal speech signals can provide enough clues for us to correctly judge the level of extroversion and the level of agreeableness.
